I just went to a reception at McCormick Home Ranch in Camarillo and it was really nice! It's got a great garden vibe, but they had to bring in a lot of rentals- even bathrooms! A lot of the rustic venues are like that. If you'd be willing to go to OC, Oak Canyon Nature Center in Anaheim Hills is beautiful. They do have bathrooms, but you have to bring in your own power.
It all depends on your budget--San Ysidro Ranch in Montecito is gorgeous and perfect for that kind of thing, but horredously expensive. I'm in SB--I might be able to help you if you're wanting a venue here--just PM me if you want.

Camarillo Ranch is where I got married, I liked it better than McCormick Home Ranch because there is the option to use the AMAZING barn that has nice bathrooms. It has a huge lawn with really awesome giant trees and also a rose garden. You can bring in all your own rentals and catering (including alcohol). I loved it!
