I can let you know on Saturday when I go for my first fitting.  I will tell you, though, that I’m a street size 0, and they ordered a size 8 for me.  I was a bit surprised at that.  I have hips, though.

@akwa2:  Hey – sorry for the delay!  Aside from almost fainting, the fitting went well :).  The dress had to be taken in a full 1.5 inches on the sides.  So, as I’d suspected initially, I think that a size 6 would have been pretty close to accurate from the beginning.  I’m not sure what my original measurements were – something close to 34-25-36/37.  As I said, I’ve got hips.  Now, I think I’m probably closer to a 32-24-35.  As you can see from the Lazaro size chart, he runs pretty small (if you’re comparing to US street size).  I don’t see the point in ever comparing bridal sizes to US street size.  My best friend who is a tiny size 0 (not butt or hips) also fit perfectly into a bridal size 6.

Regardless, whatever size you order, if you’ve got a good tailor, you shouldn’t have a problem.

Oh, I just looked at your dress.  Sooo pretty!!  If I’d done a fitted dress, that one would have definitely been in the running.  Are you getting it altered in-house?  Seems like they would have pretty skilled seamstresses there.  I think you’ll be absolutely fine.  But I wonder why they ordered a 10 for you.  Maybe the mermaids run even smaller?  I’ve got a ballgown.

Just remember not to lock your knees for a long period when you’re being fitted ;).

So glad to see other Lazaro brides on here!!  What styles are you guys wearing?  I’m wearing the 3063 with 3165 skirt for my ceremony and changing into the 3059 for my reception.  I’m a street size 4, sometimes 6…and I bought the 10, they fit almost perfectly!

@kellynn323:  Wow!  That’s a lot of Lazaro!  Such pretty dresses!  I’m wearing the 3114 without the sash.  It’s a big one, but I love it.

@shrinkgirl:  Haha, yes lots of Lazaro, I tried on the 3059 and fell in love, but bought the 3063/3165 custom used online for less then 1/2 price, I was so happy about saving money…but couldn’t stop thinking about the 3059 so I got it used as well for 1/2 off.  Should have just stuck with the first one, but the ball gown is so bride like and the 3059 is great for the reception.  No regrets.

I had to google the 3114, it’s beautiful.  Such a full ball gown.  I love it 🙂

@akwa2:  Thank You 🙂  Are you wearing the 3201?  I stalked your posts, lol.  I am in love with that dress, but I would feel too self concious in that…I’m not a size zero, and I have a butt, lol.  Kinda jealous that you can pull that off, you will look beautiful on your wedding day!!  Good luck with your fitting!!
