@skyeatnight: Wow, really?? That’s really low for Lazaro. I’ve never seen his dresses below $3K before. They usually run $3K-$6K but if any store is selling it at that price that’s great.

Yeah that does seem really low. I called today to ask the price of a different dress in the same collection (LZ3108) and it was quoted at $3630. It seems a lot more simple than the dress you like, too–so I can’t imagine that it’s less than 3K…

That being said–you can always look out for sample sales or look on preowned wedding dress websites!

Ok–I just googled the “3100 Ivory/Platinum $2540.00 Lazaro” that skyeatnight posted above, and the first result was this page:

http://retailers.jlmcouture.com/assets/retailers_site/documents/LZ_Bridal_Spring_2011_Order_Form.pdf

It looks to me that that is an order form for a bridal salon to order their samples–which would obviously much cheaper than what they would charge us to order the gowns. I’m guessing you can probably double most of those prices to end up around what you would actually have to pay…

Which really stinks because his gowns are so beautiful…just a little out of my price range…:(

@aubiegirl: Isn’t it crazy how high the markups are?

@smirrie: Based on the link aubiegirl posted, that is the third most expensive dress in the collection. Retail price should be around $4500.

It completely depends on which site you go to and again the markups are ridiculous.  I’m from Scotland so perhaps that makes a difference.  The price of Maggies in the UK can be so different to the ones in the US (even when working out the $ to £ difference).

@smirrie: Interesting, I wore a Lazaro and paid $4000 (LZ3002) with a trunk show discount. The other two Lazaro’s I was interested in were $5200 and $5700 (LZ3804 and LZ3819) . I checked three different stores and all used sites, so I know this is standard pricing in the US.  Lazaro dresses are made in New York, but may be he sells them for A LOT cheaper to Europe? After my wedding I sold my dress to a girl in Hong Kong who told me they were even more expensive where she lives.

Let us know if you get it, his dresses are gorgeous!

I tried on the Lazaro 3018 (see picture below) in Texas and it was about $3800.  The one I tried on seems much more simple than the one you’re looking at.

My wedding dress is Lazaro…. and mine has a lot more layers than the gown in the picture. I bought mine at a consignment shop. She bought it from a store that used it as a sample gown so it had never been worn all day before. I talked her down from $1,200 to $800. So just because its a Lazaro gown doesn’t mean you can’t get a good price on it but I would highly encourage you to go see what your local bridal consignment shops have for sale– it may just surprise you!
