I know it's a long shot, but are there any other LDS Weddingbee readers out there?

I'm here:) I just got married May 17th in San Antonio, but I'm still addicted to the site. When is your wedding (and where?)

I know that after I get married I will still be checking obsessively every day as well. I am getting married in the Seattle temple on October 11th.

I'm here too! I got married almost a year ago in the Houston temple, planned the whole shebang in three months for the most popular wedding day of the year (7/7/07), so if you have any questions, feel free to ask.

I'm excited that there are other LDS girls who read weddingbee. Were you guys the ones who suggested they create an LDS board? I know there were two comments for one, so if it wasn't you and it wasn't me, there must be some other LDS brides out there!

I'm here!

Actually, okay, I'll be honest.  I WAS engaged, but my fiance decided he wants to date for longer before making any committments to making covenants.  Our whole relationship has been long distance, so I can't say I blame him.  We're having fun spending the summer TOGETHER without making any wedding plans. :)

So I am excited to talk to other LDS brides on here because um, yeah we were doing the whole cultural hall reception thing.  U-G-L-Y.

And we needed to invite the whole ward (dad's the bishop), with a small budget.

But hey, at least the ceremony would have been free ! ;)

allibug-other brides would be astounded to learn that you were able to book your "ceremony location" only 3 months before on the lucky date of 7/7/07. Gotta love it. I don't think I had the nerve to suggest it because I assumed that there weren't a whole lot of us out there. We sure are creating a lot of activity on the Christian board though :)

elizzard-I read your blog! Or at least until you weren't engaged anymore, but it sounds like that might be back on again someday so I will resubscribe. You know how it is with wedding blogs, I have so many I want to read I have to unsubscribe if people aren't updating consistently. I totally know what you mean about inviting the entire ward, we are actually going to have an open house to solve this problem. That way I can have my smaller more intimate wedding but the ward where I lived my entire life until college won't feel left out of things.

elizzard- we invited over 250 people to our first reception, and had a small open house up near where I live, and we did it all on an extremely small budget. I haven't finished all the math yet since it's only been a couple weeks, but it's under $3000, including my dress and his suit. We had a buffet with plenty of food, and a 6 foot cupcake tree for the cake. We were engaged for 7 months so I had time to bargain shop, but it can be done in less time!

And, I was extremely opposed to the cultural hall reception before we got engaged, but it came down to picking my battles. Our reception was actually quite gorgeous, and I know if I had the time I could have made it even better. Everyone commented on how beautiful the room was. The biggest trick was going with a small church, rather than a stake center. So, it can turn out well, I promise. I was dreading it too, but I loved it, and what matters is we got married.

and allibug, this is Christine, in the Capital Ward forever ago:)

jnicholea i'm flattered you would read my blog, haha.  I could totally keep blogging about wedding planning... but I'm sure everyone would think I was crazy and desparate!  But yeah, I actually feel guilty for not updating... maybe I will today. :)

elizzard-I'm so sorry things didn't work out for you.  Good luck selling your dress.

ckonkle-I thought that was you! Congrats on getting married. I saw your wedding pictures and they are GORGEOUS!

Thanks allibug:)

and elizzard- I bought my dress off craigslist, but I bought it off the SLC one, and I live in Dallas. Since it's free to list, why don't you try listing in some major cities and say you'll ship it? I was able to try on a dress by the same designer very similar to mine to determine sizing, but then just had mine shipped. Unless it's against craiglist rules, you might get a few bites that way. Good luck!

Hi Ladies -
I'm not an LDS bride but I own a dress that I believe would be acceptable for temple.
I wore it in my National Charity League deb ball in high school and it is gorgeous, but I'm not that skinny anymore.
Do you have any advice on where would be the best place to sell it?

Woot! Me and my hubby were married 6/7/08. Due to our living choices we weren't able to get married in the temple. BUUTT...we are working our way to being sealed in the temple so we can be together forever. Yay!

It's good to hear that I'm not the only married, weddingbee stalker!
