Yeah, everyone seems to say that! Try everything on, the last one you expect will be it! I'll be so disappointed if the one I've been lusting after doesn't work for me...
Wear what you truely love...take advise from others...but get what YOU desire and feel comfortable in. Seriously. Also...don't go on a weekend. Call in to work on a Tuesday. *Cough* *Cough* ----> YOU are sick. *Cough* *cough* (Gotta go dress shopping) ohh...and go alone just one time (for dress shopping) it really makes you SEE things a whole lot "clearer"
Take pictures of you in it also, if you can. I found a dress that I loved and it looked great in the mirror. Luckily we took a ton of pics of me in it to send to my mom, in every pic I looked like a big square block. It just didn't photograph as well as it looked in person.
Seriously try EVERYTHING on. When my mom handed mine to me, I thought she had gone off the deep end. I thought it looked like an ugly eighties table cloth. Put it on and... presto!

I just got engaged and thought I had found a dress I loved, it was love at first sight! (BCBG strapless applique dress) I ordered it, tried it on.... The dress itself was very cute, just not cute on me. Disappointing, but I still have a year to the wedding so no biggie.
Lesson 1: Keep in mind that what looks appealing in the magazines and websites may not be for me at all!
