Miss Pudding's post on ironing her FI's shirts got me thinking today.  Some people really really hate cleaning the bathroom, but love scrubbing mine with Mr. Clean.  But ironing??  I loathe it.  What are your least favourite chores?  And are you a good match with your partner in terms of which chores you love and hate?

I hate cleaning the fridge- in particulat that little hole at the bottom which gets gunked up. Urch. It makes me retch.

I am so lazy with housework. I do do some, and DF used to do more than me, but we now have a cleaner for 3 hours a week instead.

I hate, hate, hate vacuuming. I really hate it. But I'm quite happy to clean the toilet, which makes little sense!

Cleaning the shower. HATE HATE HATE. The whole bathroom in general... but particularly the shower.

    I also hate laundry.

I do not mind cleaning the kitchen at all or doing dusting, vacuuming, etc.

dishes (we don't have a dishwasher so all by hand), cleaning the bathroom, cleaning the fridge, and laundry and ironing.

i don't mind dusting things or vacuuming.. thats good i guess.

my FI and i are on the "we will be hiring a cleaning lady someday" train, as we are both horribly lazy cleaners. Embarassed

I HATE DISHES! Always have, and I hate putting laundry away....so mine just sits in a pile until I get annoyed enough to put it away....like now. All of it has to go back in the dryer to fluff then get folded/hung up. If hubs would just throw it on hangers for me I'd be happy to put it away.

In the bathroom, I hate cleaning the outside of the toilet...that has always grossed me out. And I agree with the fridge thing. LOL Otherwise, I am perfectly content to do housework. the hubs doesn't do any really..so things just sit there until I either break down and do it or demand that he does them.

Cat box, hands down. I cannot wait until I'm pregnant and those blissful 9 months where I don't have to clean it every. single. week.

I HATE doing laundry. Seriously, I just won't do it. I don't mind dishes because I have a dishwasher, but I don't like putting things away the dishes that got clean.

Is putting away (i.e. folding and hanging up) laundry considered a chore.  Cause if yes... then that!  I loathe it with a passion! lol

Dishes.  When I was growing up, I had to do dishes every night after dinner.  I loathe doing the dishes.  But it's great, the FH is kind of a neat freak, so I cook dinner and he does clean up afterward!  We work well together!

I HATE cleaning the shower!!  It never seems clean enough and I usually end up inhaling way too many clorox fumes.

I generally enjoy cleaning, but I hate getting my hands all chemical-y and wet or dried out. So anything that involves water, I generally avoid doing. Or maybe I'm just lazy, haha.

I'm also very guilty of having several baskets of clean but not folded clothes sitting around.  I'm very OCD about how I fold things and so I put it off b/c it's such a pain in the arse :)

Scrubbing the shower. Hands down, I hate it.

@DaisyBride: I'm the same way! My 2nd most hated task is folding the laundry because I'm extremely particular about how it has to be done. I have laundry in the dryer from 3 days ago and it'll definitely have to stay there until tomorrow when I have some time to fold it :P

I used to hate ironing until I got one of those upright steamers. Apparently it's so easy and fast to use even the boy steams our laundry. Worth every penny!

I hate doing and folding the laundry. Each time I do it I'm like "this doesn't take very long, why do I hate it so much" - but I hate it!! I also hate cleaning the cat's litterbox, and cleaning sketchy left-overs out of the fridge.

I LOVE sweeping/vacuuming the floors though, no idea why! FH is a total neat-freak, and doesn't mind cleaning, so he generally does most of it, except the floors...lucky me!

Folding laundry! Forget about ironing. I don't have that skill. If I need something ironed, FI does it for me. Luckily I don't need things ironed very often. I'm thinking of buying that prof. steamer they have at Costco.

We bought a super nice vapor steam cleaner/ vacuum that you can use to clean just about anything. It was expensive but makes cleaning the tile floors and bath tubs a breeze. You don't have to use chemicals because the vapor is so hot.

hcritton - It's good to know I'm not alone.  No one seems to understand why I don't just half-ass it to get it done, but I would be seriously disturbed to know that a drawer was full of badly folded t-shirts.

    - cleaning the fridge (I don't do it nearly as much as I should)

    - cleaning the bathroom especially the tub

    - laundy (becuase we have to go to the laundromat...how I wish I can own a home and get my own washer/dryer)

eveything else is not so bad

Cat litter box....ewww!  I also don't really love scrubbing the toilets.  These are two things the FI just won't do, so I make him do more cleaning to make up for it!

Oh my goodness, anything to do with the bathroom, especially cleaning the toilet and scrubbing the tub. FI and I have an arrangement - I do most of the day to day chores (like dishes, cleaning the kitchen, tidying) while he dusts, vacuums, and cleans the entire bathroom. The bathroom trade off is so worth it!

@luli29 - I would LOOOOOOOVE to have my own washer and dryer. We live in a apartment and have pay for laundry. People with washer and dryers, you have no idea how good you have it - laundry becomes a huge hassle (and expense!!!) when you don't have your own washer and dryer.

@valhalla - Every time I do laundry I smile at my washer and dryer and when I show people a tour of our house it's my favourite part to show them. Not only do we have our own but it is on the top floor of my house right outside the master bedroom! No more carrying laundry up and down stairs - it's a dream come true!

I am very thankful for my laundry room :-)

    ~ As I am writing this I can't believe how big of a dork I am!!!!!! ~
