It is a product that has been around for decades… not fancy smancy, and can be bought at any Pharmacy…

VO-5 Hot Oil Treatment

Great for BOTH your hair and your scalp.  I’ve been using it for eons.

@jlc3:  you have to try the Macadamia Oil Deep repair Masque!! It smells so good and it really works wonders.. Leaves your hair silky smooth.. You can get it at target or ultra.

I also love the Macadamia Oil stuff. If you’re looking for a daily leave-in conditioner I love, love the Revlon Uniqu One. It’s in a reddish bottle and it has a spray cap so you can just spray it in your hair for easy application.

@val_toro:  We just got Target in Canada. I am going to look this stuff up. My hair is terrible at the moment. Ugh.

it is a little pricey but I am IN LOVE with Aveda’s Damage Remedy line. They have a daily shampoo & conditioner, a leave-in treatment and a once-a-week deep conditioning treatment. It has done WONDERS for my hair. I used to be the damaged hair queen, but I’ve been using it for 3 months now and the difference in my hair is remarkable. My FI even said the other day that my hair was looking really pretty… and he is not the type to notice ANYTHING EVER. (Love him, though!!)

Now, it is pricey. The conditioner and leave in treatment are $26 EACH. The line up does last me about 2 months, though. It is an investiment – but if you have really damaged your hair, this will make a big difference. I highly recommend this line.

Good Luck!!

@jlc3:  I LOVE LOVE Redkin Antisnap leave in conditioner…..It helps me more than anything I’ve tried! It doesn’t leave my hair weighted down like some of the other stuff I have tried. This has been a miracle worker for me!

I use a mixture of honey, coconut oil, and argan oil as a deep conditioner. I wash my hair two times a week, and the night before a hair washing day I put a mixture of quarter cup coconut oil + tbsp of honey + tsp argan oil on my hair, pile hair on top of my head, put plastic wrap on the bun, and go to sleep!

I used to use the Macadamia mask, but I have a lot of hair and it’s long, so I was going through a tub a month!

@MrsPanda99:  it’s also sold at Shopper’s!

@weddingbound:  I’ve been reading about this product! It was recommended to me by someone who said it helped reduce hair breakage. Is that your experience too? I may pick it up!

@letigre:  Yes it has def reduced the breakage and helped with overall softness and shine. I have tried a lot of stuff and my hair really likes this. Its not thick at all like some stuff out there and I really like that about it. I also use the redkin antisnap shampoo and conditioner….love it all!

@weddingbound:  Okay, well your hair is as gorgeous as you are so I am going to take your recommendation! Dye has made my hair SO DRY it is not even funny. I have gone back to my roots so to speak but the damage still exists. I love when you reply on threads like this because I trust your judgement 🙂
