    Hiya,

So I am going to a lebanese wedding on Saturday - Its my friends brothers wedding, and in regards to gifts their tradition is usually just giving money.

I am now wondering what the norm or appropriate amount of money to give.

Were not horribly close, in fact I haven't seen him in about 10 years...me and his sister only just started really talking more recently (we have kept in touch all these years, but have only seen each other about twice in a span of 7-8 years) so I dont know if that would be a factor in how much we give.

I just don't want to be insulting, so any help?

How much do you usually give if you're giving money to a good friend? I think for this person probably $50 is an appropriate amount. Since you're not terribly close to him I don't think he would see it as insulting or anything. For close friends and family I (along with FI) usually give $100 or a similarly priced gift from the registry. Any amount is sure to be appreciated by the bride and groom. Have fun!

in the past, ive usually given $200 to the bride & groom and ive never had any feedback if this was considered acceptable or not so i guess they were happy

generally i figure $100 per head for the function so try to spend about the same on gift/cash

ok great, thanks for some imput girls!

I was thinking around $100 was good. especially for someone I haven't seen let alone talked to in years and years, heck I find it a large amount!

I think it depends on your situation...if you are young and just starting out, a student, etc., I think $50 is good. If you are more established in your career and finances I would go with $100.
