Are you not drinkers?
I would either throw a party or hold onto it & just drink it throughout the year.
Definitely give away bourbon for holidays.
If they're unopened bottles, sometimes the liquor stores will buy them back from you/give you a refund for the extra bottles. If they're open, I say have a party! The holidays are coming up. You could save them for that!
Drink it!! (at a party that you throw for all your friends, of course!)
I would definitely gift it for Christmas too!
I don't think New York liquor stores take stuff back, but yes, perhaps we can try to sell the whiskey at least, it's good stuff. Yes, party at my house, haha.
I don't really drink and my husband only drinks beer--we had some rose with dinner the other night. But when we got married, I freaked out and we overbought, just to make sure we didn't run out.
You are going to have to see if you can return it, give it away, or drink it. It is not legal to sell alchohol without a liquor license.
If it is unopened, you may be able to return it, depending on where it was purchased. Call ahead to make sure they accept it. Costco will accept it if it is unopened and they carry that brand, but you may need to have a receipt with you. Grocery stores in general are not allowed to accept alcohol returns. It is illegal to sell it to anyone so that is not an option for you.
Otherwise save it for your own personal liquor cabinet. Or have parties during the year in your home to use it up.
Before even reading your post I thought, "Drink it!". But that's not really helpful, especially if you're not big drinkers. I know I'd definitely be willing to purchase alcohol off someone else if the bottles were unopened. Other than that, if you're willing to give it away for the holidays (as PP said) you can go that route.
I say, try to return it and if you can't, I like the Christmas gift idea.
Or if you go to get-togethers at friend's houses, bring it in place of a bottle of wine or whatever.
Orrrr do you have any friends/ family getting married any time soon? You can offer it to them as your wedding gift.
Always good to at least have some on hand for company! Try Craiglist? Someone might buy it from you at a discount.
I wish I had this problem...I never have enough wine in the house!
My husband's aunt and uncle had tons left over. It sat in their basement for two years. I think he got a bottle of whisky as a thank you for house sitting.
You'll get rid of it over the years!
Another option, if your family and friends whom you may have over for a party to use it up won't drink it: take it to work and set up a sign in the break room that says "please take me home" so that your coworkers can use it instead if you know it won't be consumed otherwise.
You'd be amazed at the stuff that coworkers are glad to take that may not get used or eaten/drunk any other way if left in your own possession.

What should we do with it? Is there any way we can sell it? We have wine and bourbon (and beer, but that we can drink). We have lots!
