Hehe, cute topic. FI is a lefty, but I'm a righty. His dad and paternal grandpa are also lefties. FI's mom was also born a lefty, but she was forced to become a righty! She's now pretty ambidexrous, but writes with her right. :)
I'm a righty he is a lefty and it is soooo annoying if we are eating in a restaurant or at a tight table and I am on his left side - our fork arms create elbow fights!
But other than that I never even notice he is a lefty!
FI is a lefty....but in Korea it's still considered 'bad' to be left handed. So, when he is eating with older people, he has to eat with his right hand. Actually, he doesn't even hold his chopsticks properly because he has to eat with his right. He feels like he is 'normal' around me because he is able to be a lefty in peace! I'm a righty when I write and cut with scissors, but I'm a lefty in all sports except for baseball. Our children will either be very confused or ambidextrous!!
We are both lefty's and I really love it, we can go to a restaurant and cuddle and not have elbow fights...it's nice.
It also helps when sleeping b/c he has to hold my hand under the pillow and it's always our left hands linking up. No elbows smushed into your sides when cuddling :)
I do have to say we do get the "OMG you're both lefty's! awwwwww" statements from some people which we just try to laugh it off. I'm very snarky and have been known to say stuff like .. "OMG you're both shoe wearing people! awwwww" I usually get elbowed for that stuff ;)
I am left handed and his right. We don't notice much. I am used to always sitting to the left of people so we don't bump each other so it's no different with him. He notices funny stuff about me being left handed though, that I never thought of. For example, when driving on the freeway, I only feel comfortable/safe driving on the furthest left lane. I only go to the right lanes to merge off the freeway. And if I am giving directions while someone is driving, I only use my hands because "left" is always the first word out of my mouth even if it's suppose to be "right".
That is really cool that you're both left handed! Rare indeed!! I really haven't had much contact with left handed people. My parents and siblings are all right handed. But I come to college and my roommate and boyfriend(now FI) end up being left handed. No, the two closest people to me are left handed. Can't get away from them.
Charm Bracelet: I do the whole driving in the left lane thing. I noticed it when my roommate in college (my MOH) who is left handed also does it and we talked about why.
I just realized 3/4 of the bridal party is going to be left handed! haha
I'm a lefty, but he's not. And something else weird about me being a lefty - writing and brushing my teeth are the ONLY things that I do left-handed. Everything else is done with my right hand, including cutting with scissors or knife...I just think that's odd.
We're both lefties! Also, my mom and sister are lefties as well. That's a pretty big coincidence ;o)
I'm a lefty and he's a righty. We really don't notice it too much until we go out to eat and I forget to sit to the left of him, haha!
haha I always forget to sit on the left side of people who are not left handed! I'm so used to just sitting with FH
Half and half. I'm a lefty, he's a righty. We both have semi-ambidextrous habits, though mine tend to be because sports and scissors weren't made for me.
@ Charm bracelet: Wow...that just explained my entire highway driving experience! I always get in the far left lane. Now I don't have to blame it entirely on my driving speed, haha.
I'm right handed. FI writes right handed and everything else with his left.
We are both left-handed and I love it (I think it makes us special) haha! I know I'm a dork :)
I have many lefthanders in my family (mom, sister, nieces, nephews) and he has a couple of lefthanders in his family.
I secretly hope that our kiddies will be left-haded.
He's a lefty :)
I used to be able to write with both hands pretty well but not anymore.
So I just looked at this poll for the first time in a few days and I am amazed at all the lefties there are out there...
And 11% of us are a lefty couples! Wow.
I'm a lefty and he's a righty. It doesn't make much difference though. I do most of the important stuff with my right hand anyway, like stirring, cutting, etc. My fork is the only utensil I use my left hand for... lol, weird but I put the spoon in my right as well as the knife. I think this is because my parents were split, one lefty and one righty and they used to both correct me at the dinner table! lol, I just couldn't win.
i'm a lefty. both my parents are righties but my grandmother's a lefty. maybe it skips a generation?

I was just curious to see how many couples our there are left handed?
FH and I are both left handed and when people notice they think it is so odd and rare! I think it has it's perks because I love not having to worry about sitting on the "right" side of him and also that we will always have the "right" pair of scissors in the house! But most of all I am anxious to see what our children will be since being left vs right handed depends both on environmental and genetic cues.
So any lefty couples out there? and do you get the same reaction of this being an odd pairing? Are any of you a child of two lefty parents (and what hand are you)?
