This morning, I made a coffee run to a local fast food joint. Of course it was busy, and early so I’m just sitting there waiting to pull up and pay. The car in front starts to move forward so I ease off of the brake and move forward as well. Well, when I stopped I * thought* I had given myself enough room between me and the car in front. I heard a slight bump/ contact sound and assumed I tapped them. I have cameras in the front and rear, so I turned them on and saw it was close but not touching. I thought maybe I just ran over a bottle or something, since it sounded like a pop or nudge and not metal on metal ( or plastic on plastic lol).
Bottom line: I’m not sure if I actually did tap them, and they drove off while I was getting my order. I didn’t notice any damage on their rear, and there’s nothing on my front end. I’m just worried they’ll get home and inspect it to find a scratch or smudge and call the establishment to see if they can get a license # from the cameras.
Am I being paranoid or ridiculous? I would have been happy to speak with them, but they drove out before I had the chance. Now I’m considering calling the restaurant and telling management what happened just in case someone calls. Is that a silly idea?
