Hello bees!

I got engaged December 9th and have been using this site for a few weeks now...and I figured it was about time I introduce myself!

We have dated for 4 years and are college sweethearts! We will have about a year and half long engagment, but I am of course so excited that I have begun planning already!

Anyways, I am excited to meet all of you, and as promised here are the pictures!

He won't tell me how much it is or anything. All I know is that it is strawberry gold, and there is a white gold band with the six diamonds, and then a very big Amethyst gem! I love it, it fits my personality perfectly!!! And he picked it all by himself, huge brownie points lol!

@Eva Peron: and wow what a compliment! The ring actually is custom - it originally came with some low-quality pink gem, and he got a higher-quality amethyst. For our wedding instead of getting a wedding band, he is going to get a purple sapphire because those are even more unique :)

@TheMrs2013: lol yepp purple sapphire! You can google it but it is rare! I had never heard of it either I was confused, but it is possible! :)

Such a unique & beautiful ring. I have to say I'm a little jealous of the purple sapphire you'll be getting, as well. I LOVE sapphires, and a purple one at that? *swoon.* Congrats!!

thanks for the compliments ladies! I forgot to put the proposal story...how silly!

Well, I knew he was buying me a ring for Christmas, but he had done this twice before so I didn't really think anything of it. He decided to give me my present early, and when he gave it to me it was in a huge box! Again, this was not out of the ordinary because he is always trying to wrap presents in ways that are either a pain in the butt, or in ways that you can't guess what they are.

So I began opening the present, and noticed that instead of having a bunch of boxes inside it, it was filled with fluff! I finally removed it all, making sure I didn't miss the ring, when I realized there was a note at the bottom of the box. I began to read it and realized it was a beautiful poem that he wrote (he is an excellent writer!) about our relationship, and the last line told me to turn around. When I did, he got down on one knee, and I of course said yes! :)

I always thought I would cry when I was proposed to, but I was just too shocked to even think! haha he was actually almost crying as he proposed, from nerves I think.

Verrrry pretty. LOVE the ring!  I have an amethyst ering too :) And purple sapphires are to die for, though it looks lovely as it.
