- Wedding: May 2012
I’m a mum to 3 and bride-to-be in my early 30s. I’ve used this site a lot to find tips, advices and inspiration, but thought it was only fair to join and share some myself now that my own plans for our wedding (noticed that? “My plans” but “our wedding”, think more of you bees recognize this felt ownership to the wedding… it’s nice of the groom to show up, but please stay out of the planning unless told otherwise… haha).
We live in Northern Europe and are having an outdoor wedding in Tuscany in May. We go to Italy every summer- without kids- and it’s become our romantic spot. Anything other than getting married there just seemed “wrong”.
My groom is acutally pretty interested in the wedding, and he has most definitely contributed to almost every decision. But since I’m on maternity leave and he’s got a really busy job, it’s practical that I do most of the planning (and I’m quite reliefed that it’s like that, haha). Wedding planner and the cost that comes with it is out of the question, a part from the help we are getting from the owner of the place we have rented for the occasion we’re doing it ourselves.
The wedding will be pretty laid back and if I were to name the style it would be within the DIY, budget and bohemian light categories, “budget” being the reason for “bohemian”. We’re taking advantage of the natural surroundings and hoping a casual, rustic style that doesn’t cost us much will pass as romantic 😉 Yes- it’s possible to do an Italian wedding on a pretty low budget!
Looking forward to sharing thoughts with you fellow bees!
