Ok ladies~ so after trying on dresses I found “the one” in Sottero and Midgley’s Adara! I love the sparkle and satin!! However, my friend who went with me as well as the lady at the salon talked me into ordering ivory instead of white. They both thought it complemented my skin tone better. After my dress came it I have had a really hard time accepting the ivory color! I’m soooo worried it looks dirty and will look funny in pictures. Also, I wanted a red and white boquet but am worried the white flowers will make my dress look dirty as well. Plus, I am worried about what my fiance will look like. (I have also been talked into putting my groom-to-be in a black tux with a white shirt and ivory vest and tie). Just wondering if any of you ladies have done this and if you can share pictures? Also, I’d love to see pictures of your ivory gown! I’m hoping if I see pictures and realized the ivory does not look “dirty” it will put my mind at ease about my own dress! Thanks in advance!

I’m having a bit of dress regret. I also bought an ivory dress. It photographs whiter however in real life, it’s kind of a “PEE yellow” …..

yay! I’ve been waiting to add a dress pic for ages, finally have a dress to show off! 😉 I always knew I wanted an ivory as opposed to a stark white dress, I think it’s much softer and more delicate! 🙂
I don’t know how these pics will come out because of the quality of the camera phone! so sorry in advance!

I was surprised that the dress I had tried on was in ivory! lol I was so set on white. But honestly I might as well be color blind when it comes to ivory vs white. (the lady at the shop said that it was a lighter ivory. so Idk. lol)

I love ivory for wedding dresses and I think a lot of brides make the decision to go ivory! I really don’t think you can tell. I’ve never looked at a bride and thought her dress didn’t look “white” enough. Sometimes I think white-white can just be too stark. I loved my ivory dress!!
Do you have pictures of your dress?

Ivory is universally a more flattering color…. and this is coming from someone who bought a lace dress that is ivory over light gold. Ivory will photograph white. Because I am in ivory/gold, fiance and all groomsmen are wearing ivory tuxedo shirts – so they don’t look so stark white in comparison. fiance’s vest and tie are also ivory and groomsmen’s are black. maybe consider having their shirts switched to ivory instead of white if you are worried, but honestly, NOBODY IS GOING TO NOTICE THE DIFFERENCE!!! I saw some true white gowns when i was looking, and i absolutely hated them – they did nothing to compliment my skin tone, and i dont know, they just looked cheap. Ivory is beautiful – and you’re totally going to rock it!

If it’s a light ivory, no one will notice.. I think mine looks white & it’s ivory. The only time I could see it wasn’t white, was when the lady at the bridal shop held a white FG dress up to mine, other than that.. you can’t tell. If you have white flowers, you might be able to notice.. but I bet only you will notice, no one else will.

I did the exact same thing you did with the groom in a white shirt with ivory vest and tie. I think it turned out great! My dress is ivory.
