If you want to keeps costs down, stick with what's in season. That means mums, aster and possibly dahlias (my florist told me my wedding date is on the cusp for dahlias, so we'll see if I get them or not)
Someone posted a gorgeous purple dahlia bouquet on this thread recently. It's the fourth post.
My bouquet was made of purple carnations and orchids. I know orchids aren't in season in the fall, but the carnations might be. (I had actually asked the florist to just do a purple carnation bouquet because it looked so neat by itself, but she snuck in the orchids)

Love purple carnations, however my florist said they're one of the most expensive....too bad I love them. The Dahlia's are beautiful too... Thanks for all the suggestions ladies!! : )

I'm getting married in October, and I am going to my flower appointment on Monday! I had previously booked someone else who is not returning my emails/calls etc, so I am taking my dough elsewhere! I need some good ideas for purples/fuschias for flowers...I am also having ivory and champagne in the wedding (my dress is champagne). Any suggestions? Pictures welcome!! My vendor wants pictures of what I like so bring them on!! : )
