My doctor is starting me on Letrozole(Femara) to help stimulate ovulation. I am curious if any one had any success or feedback with this drug? Also, if you could tell me if you ovulated the same time frame as you did without taking this drug? Or was it earlier or later? I will be starting it on day 3 until day 7 of my next cycle.

I’ve not heard of that particular drug, but from your post it sound similar to Clomid (i.e. helping to stimulate ovulation?) – the reason I say this is that Clomid is usually taken on similar cycle days.
Good luck! x

I took this about 2 years ago. I took it on days 3-7 for 2 cycles. I had no luck an did not ovulate with it. However, I don’t ovulate on my own and it takes a much higer dose of a stronger medicine to make me do so. I didn’t have many side effects with it. My doctor at the time said she’s seen it have better side effects than Clomid.

I took it for a few months. Unfortunately, I did not achieve a pregnancy during that time. But I didn’t have any real side effects, and I responded really well to it. I got 1 good follicle on the 2.5 mg dose, and 1 on each side when I upped to the 5 mg dose. My lining and CM were also perfectly fine on it. It helped me ovulate earlier too. I was previously ovulating in the CD17-20ish range, and it helped me O more in the CD13-14 range if I remember right. Good luck!

I did four Femara cycles. I can’t help with the timing issue because I don’t usually ovulate on my own. I tried it because I had some very bad side effects on clomid and I hoped Femara would be more mild. Unfortunately I ovulated only once when I was on Femara, but twice I ovulated during the following cycle without medication. I’m not sure whether this was related to Femara usage or not. But my response was unusual. Many women have positive responses to the drug. The one time I ovulated while on Femara, it was on CD15. Good luck!
