This is a thread-idea which I took from another message board I’m on and I absolutely love it.
The idea is that you state what you have left in your fridge and pantry, and other can help you decide what to cook for tonight. Sometimes it really pays off to have somebody else look at the ingredient list, because they have such a different view on cooking. You can be as specific as you like about what you have in the fridge or pantry, just mentioning the fresh items, or any kind of herbs/condiments/spices/sauces too.
You can give suggestions to your fellow Bee’s to hit the grocery store, but ideally, you come up with a suggestion that involves only (not necessarily all!) ingredients that Bee already stocks in her fridge or pantry.
In my fridge, I have left:
2 Pieces of salmon
2 Chicken breasts
2 Fillets of mackerel
1 Carton of mushrooms
1 Bell pepper
I stock pretty much any condiment you can think of, lots of hot sauces (I like spicy food), all sorts of Asian condiments (fish sauce, soy sauce, tamarind, hoi sin sauce, sweet chili sauce), many spices (from paprika to cayennepepper to curry powder to sumac, to pretty much anything, lol, we have an entire cupboard full of spices).
I also have pita breads lying around, would love to do something with that. And of course pasta, rice and noodles. No potatoes, not a big spud fan.
I like eating healthy, as you can probably tell 😉
