I just got done reading “Dirty Rocker Boys” by Bobbie Brown. I am totally dating myself here, but does anyone remember the music video for Warrant’s Cherry Pie? She was the girl in the video. She wrote a book about her sexploits on L.A.’s sunset strip in the late 80’s early 90’s. It is a total last ditch effort to make some cash off of all the rock stars she sept with, BUT, what a fun read! You can’t feel too bad for these guys, because it’s not a stretch to believe they kind of had it coming. I have now been binge watching her reality show “The ex wives of rock”, also a train wreck that I can’t turn away from.
What is your guilty pleasure?

I finally just finished listening to the entire Game of Thrones series on audiobooks in my car, so I decided I would treat myself to a bit of a guilty pleasure book since GoT was so heavy. So I bought The Notebook.
I couldn’t even finish it. At one point, with less than an hour left, I just couldn’t take it anymore and screamed “SHUT THE F*** UP” at the narrator while violently shutting off the Audible app with my fist. Me and The Notebook did not work out 🙁
So hopefully this thread will give me some ideas of more fun books to rest my brain with!

Following! I need some trashy read suggestions!

iarebridezilla: hahaha! I LOVE the movie, but hated the book. Couldn’t finish it.
my favorite guilty pleasure read is the Crossfire series by Sylvia Day. Very reminiscent of 50 Shades of Grey, but better written and with a stronger main female character.

Bridey77: Everything I read is trash! At the end of the day I just need something to dull my mind while entertaining me. Nicholas Sparks, the True Blood Series, etc. I can’t share books with friends because they’re either embarassingly slutty or just plain horrible. You know the kind where in the first paragraph you know what two characters are going to fall in love despite starting off hating each other.

afineskyline: I’ve never seen the movie, and now I’m afraid to try! Haha maybe one of these days …
I did download the first Outlander book, though, and it is really good so far. I wouldn’t consider it trashy, since it’s sort of historical fiction-y, but it’s definitely light and enjoyable fare 🙂 And I loooooove the narrator, which is so important with audiobooks.

Phillippa Gregory books for the historical fiction + romance of an incredibly interesting time.
And possibly The All Souls Trigilogy by Deborah Harkness. I read the first book, A Discovery of Witches, and I’m debating if I want to continue. But these would be more love-to-hate readings like Twilight or Wild or Eat, Pray, Love.

Nora freaking Roberts. Please don’t judge 😉

Laurell K Hamilton and Heather Graham. 🙂 Dark and steamy and light and cheesy.

Bridey77: ‘The Parasol Protectorate’ series by Gail Carriger is a guilty read for me. It’s so silly, but I love it.
Also any of Georgette Heyer’s historical romances. Some are better than others, but they’re just nice easy reads I can really relax reading.

Bridey77: The Diary of Jenna Jameson. It is complete garbage but entertaining. It also makes me feel oh so good about my choices in life……. lol

I forget the author but I read a whole trilogy called the V V Inn which was about, I kid you not, a vampire and her human mate who ran a sex hotel where there was a mysterious murder. One of the few times I’ve outright lied when someone asked what I was reading. Geesh. But the first one was really sexy and really fun to read. And I read them all on my honeymoon, so I can use that as an excuse!
