After seeing a few threads about showing the ring, I cannot find one dedicated to it, so I'll start this!!!
I got engaged the day after Valentines day, this year. Here is my first pic for the Bees of my ring. It's cushion cut. Fiance designed it himself.
I wanted to show ya'll my ring but I am not sure how I can make my file smaller so i can upload my pic!(
Go to resize2mail.com ... you can make the picture smaller!
I know, I know! I wish I had a better picture, but out of the ones I just put on the computer from my camera, this is the best!!! I'll have to post a professional one once I get them.
Here's mine and there were in this blog post and I have a few more here.
Ok, my engagement ring is just a simple solitaire, but I love it! It's a little different than many solitaires because the band is a knife edge (which I wasn't too fond of initially, but now I love it!) Granted, it's proooobably not what I would have picked out for myself, but I doreally really love it and can't imagine myself with any other ring! All my family and friends have said that the ring is just so "me" simple and classic (which my FI said is why he picked it out). It's only .81 carats but lots of people have said that it looks like a huge diamond, probably because I have skinnier fingers so it compliments it well. Plus, this ring came in the little blue box :D Way overpriced, but I'm the only in my family and circle of friends who can brag about! (not that I do lol) I was really really surprised with the FI's choice. I thought I'd get a tiny diamond (nothing wrong with that, I'd just rather have even cubic zirconia if that means it looks nicer than some of those itty diamonds) because I know he'd want me to have one, but I know he doesn't have much money. I should have known though, because he's always trying to get me the best of everything!
@lillindy: Your rings are gorgeous! If FI could have read my mind, he'd have seen something dainty, delicate and detailed just like what's in your photos. That antique heirloom look gets me every time!
I know how much research and thought he put into picking mine. He later taught me all about the 4 C's. lol (He's my little scientist, after all!) I wouldn't trade it for anything! :o)
heh craftypants, my fiance was the same! After he bought the ring he was telling me all the research he did about the 4Cs and about why he chose my diamond (chose color over size because it was supposed to represent our relationship, etc). Guys can be too cute sometimes :p
Here's my ring! A friend of mine took the photo. I'm pretty sure I'm getting a custom-made wedding band so it'll fit the ring perfectly.
Well, the pictures do this ring little to no justice, but it's a black diamond.
hmmm. Let me try again. The first time it was too big, but I thought I got it to work. If this try doesn't work then you can check out my blog here: http://jeslynn02.blogspot.com/2009/02/im-engaged.html
EDIT: Yeah, the picture's not appearing, and it's too early in the morning for me to figure out what's going on! The link to my blog will take you to the photo I'm trying to load. Sorry about that everyone!
My lovely did a pretty good job picking it out all on his own! I couldn't have done better myself! :~)
Mine is a blue sapphire. It's exactly what I wanted :). Fi knows me so well! I'm not a jewerly person at all (serious, I don't own any at all besides my ring, not even a necklace) so I wanted something simple and he got it totally right!
It's a radiant cut surrounded by little diamonds, with little diamonds around the band. What you can't see is the gorgeous filligree worn under the diamond! It's incredible, and like a hidden treasure just for me! :-) The boy designed it, I thought he did so good, I love it!!!
I love looking at all your rings bees!! Thanks for sharing!
I just figured out how to post pics - so let me try to post some of mine :)
For those of you having trouble with your ring shots, check out Anne Ruthmann's post...it's what helped me get my photos!
I love looking at other people's rings! Here's mine. I haven't taken any nice pictures of it yet (like what Lillindy is talking about above).
ooooooooo kathrynmarcie, I love yours, so gorgeous!
Everyone's rings are so beautiful as well, I just love colored stone rings! :)
Here's mine, I was trying to be creative, just didn't work out, but the ring came out nice!
they're all gorgeous! i just wanted to pipe in and say the black diamond ring was fantastic and so unique, i've never seen anything like it :)
WOW! That Macro option is fabulous!!! All i can say is unbelievable how clear i can take pics of my ring now!
Star Sparrow, you could be a hand model! Your pics look like an ad for the ring!!!
I love the way that each ring true is an expression of self. I wished I would have seen these photos before looking at rings, don't get me wrong, I LOVE my ring and I believe it is the ring I was meant to have, but most websites and magazine do not do the ring variety justice.
Three cheers for having the freedom and creativity to have rings that represent both us and our FH's love and creativity.
I've put photos up in another location so I am just sharing one from a different angle as the FH is holding it...he is a much better photographer and I have him signed up to take some creative photos of it the next time we are together.
Liiindy I love your rings and am curious what wedding band your husband got and if it matches your ring.
@Springbride09: You must be so excited just a few more days until you are a Mrs!!!
@mizunoheaven: Love the detail of your ring! Thanks and my hubby got a Scott Kay ring, he's so opposite from me as far as jewelry goes, I love intricate and unique and he's a simple kind of guys, here's his ring (when he gets home tomorrow I'll try to see if I can snag it from him to get a better close up of it):
Here is my Pretty Pretty Princess! The second pic is a close up of the band, I just love the band, because I've never seen anything like it! My FI knew I would love it and he was SO right!
Yay! You guys all have awesome rings. And three cheers for variety! There certainly is a lot...
Here's mine. I LOVE it and think it's perfect.
I took these pics in the anne ruthman style, but I never read the tut! (Sorry, Anne!)
I then put some washes over them using the totally rad actions blogged about by Ms. Lipgloss here.
These pics are personal to me because I took a picture of the ring on some of my art supplies. I'm an artist and so it's like two of my passions represented all in one pic... :)
My fiance's mom recently passed away.He inherited this family stone from her and had it set into the pave band. I am so sad that she won't be there on our big day but I feel like I have a small piece of her with me. It is beautiful and sentimental!
I absolutely love mine because it has a low mount setting. I am accident prone and could forsee myself banging it around. This was the perfect ring for me. I just love it!
Haha, thank you! That's so flattering! My mom says I have my grandmother's hands. They're tiny, my ring is a 4 1/2!
