Bueller? Bueller? Anyone? No? Okay I guess I will start.
Last week I knocked our thumbprint tree, direction signs, table numbers and a few buffet signs off the 'to-diy' list
![]()

wow, both projects look great, did you draw the tree yourself?
I will try to post a few DIY projects for you after I have put my little one to bed and I have more than 30seconds to myself!
@missmouse29: your DIY's look awesome! I still have so many projects to tackle.
Ok, Little one in bed finally, I need take more pictures of my projects...
here are my ribbon wands
and name place settinsg on the tables
and my tears of joy ( the patterned tissue is the symbol of teh canton we live in in Swizterland)
I have done los of other projects but not taken pictures yet...
Thanks! It took awhile to get the sketch to come out how I wanted, the hardest part was trying not to smudge the ink!
I think that you incrporated the symbol from the canton is pretty cool!
thanks :) I just finally found the motivation to finish a handful of half-done stuff, good luck with your projects!
we wanted to try and have little 'nods' to places we have lived/are living. So we included the symbol of the canton we are in by using the tissue, we are also having amazing local swiss chocolate as the favour and the cocktail in the cocktail hour is G and T as we used to live in the UK too. Trying to think of other ways to include something English in the day.....as I lived there for 16 years....and our nod to canada is some hockey references as we are mad hockey fans....there will be some DIY invloved in that which I will post once they are done
For starters...
I have a lot more to do, to make this (on the right):

JoAnn fabric has some sweet big paper mache initials I'm going to buy, one with my initial, one with his, and hang on the long wall of our venue with gray ribbon. You can't hang much in there, but they're having a picture rail installed in time for our wedding.
Only some of my flowers are going to have buttons in the middle, mostly the ones overlapping on the tops.If I get super crazy I may make garland to hang from the back deck... but probably not ;) I'll keep ya posted!
@missmouse29 - thanks! I fudged a couple you can see, but I'll layer them ;)
Oh, and your cupcake poster is sooooo awesome!
The only ones I have started on is my shoes and personalized hangers for my BMs. I have place I DO on the bottom of my shoes and I am beddazzling my shoes with Blue rhinestones for my something blue. Sorry I don't pictures of the hangers here (I'm at work hihi), I'll post then later when I get home.

i'm one of those crazy people doing mostly everything DIY. as i type i am printing out my treat bag label for candy buffet bags :) my invitations went out day before last...they were DIY...you can see pics of them under my profile > DIY. once i get a bunch more stuff finished i will post all the pics!
I diy'd our invites too, & am doing a lot of stuff myself partially because I'm insane ;)
eta: I whipped up some pinwheels using these instructions, and it was way easier then I thought it would be.
I opted to re-use 'green' (live/new growth) branches limbed-up from trees in our yard instead of buying dowels and they still turned out great for our rustic vibe.
I admit I am completely shameless and basically just flooding this thread haha.
I promise I will stop ..when the wedding is closer :P
here are 3 of the tissue poms I made fluffed and hung in natural light (had to be sure I liked them before I made more). The rest are folded for transport :)

Your poms look lovely and are making me reconsider!!!
I;ve done a bunch DIY but my camera is broken so pics are not taken :( Hopefully I can post soon.
nice poms missmouse! We will be using them too!
We did centerpeices, pomanders, favors, baskets for everything, programs, invites, wedding website, table numbers, etc. Tooooo much
Did anyone make their own program for the ceremony? I was thinking of making fan programs, but I was wondering what kind of paper to use.
@carriejuly: I did. I used 80# and 60# glued together. They're pretty sturdy.
I used scrap booking card stock, 80lbs. anything lighter just tore. The ones in the photo are.. double sided K&Company and Amy Butler prints. Sorry it took me so long to respond I've been crazy busy!
thanks :)
thanks! those were the first ones I made and they look a little lopsided to me but hey, no one is going to be paying as much attention to this stuff as me :)
they are actually relatively easy and not too time consuming if you aren't fluffing them all up at the same time.

Not everyone jumps on the DIY crazy-train for weddings, but there's always something that is DIY, some people do invitations, some do escort cards. Some people do their guest books, or their table numbers. Some people are insane ambitious and do everything.
So what are your DIYs July 2011'ers?
