I am pretty sure that we are going to be doing First Look photos, mostly because the timeline is a little tight and I want to make sure I get the photos I want and enjoy the cocktail hour with my guests. I was a little concerned that it would take away from the emotion of seeing my FI at the end of the aisle, but every comment I see about people who did First Look photos was very positive. And they didn’t feel like it took away from the ceremony.
So now I am obessed with First Look photos!! Show me yours! And tell me what you loved best about this approach or what you didn’t like!

I loved it. Pictures worked best in our timeline if taken before the ceremony so we did want a first look. My husband had waited to see my dress, veil, hair, everything. He wanted to be completely surprised, and he was. It was also great to do it then because we could get all those first look feelings out of the way before the ceremony. I totally recommend doing it.

We had our ceremony and reception at the same place so there was no way we were going to step out after the ceremony for pictures. I’m not a big fan of making guests wait so first look was the only way to go for us. It also helped relieve a LOT of my nerves. Pretty sure I would have passed out before making it down the aisle if not for seeing DH beforehand!

Best dscision we made. I was so apprehensive about it because I too had always dreamed about his first time seeing me being at the altar. But after reading the bee and searching on pinterest and seeing some adorable poses I was hooked. It definitely took a lot of the stress away and standing there waiting for him to turn around once my photographer gave him the ok was the BEST feeling ever and filled with butterflies. I loved it!!

I originally didn’t want to have a first look, but DH convinced me and I’m SO glad he did! I had a really shitty morning and seeing DH before the ceremony just soothed my nerves in a way I didn’t think possible. I know I’ve showed this photo a million times, but I love it so much, so here it is again!

It’s hard to really sum it up without showing ALL of the pictures and I didn’t want to flood the board haha. They’re a little small this way :/
The video shows it much better! http://vimeo.com/45679154

@LuckyinLove17: We decided on a first look for the same reasons. At first I was against it and then it made sense. Fiancee and I are both super nervous about being in the spot light so I really think this will calm our nerves. And I have being in a wedding and missing cocktail hour this way everyone gets to enjoy most of it because most of the pictures will be done. 9 days for me!!!!
@Mrs. Coyote: I just teared up seeing your picture. Happy tears!!! Love it!

@conkin420: 9 days?? Wow!! So exciting! Good luck. Make sure you add your first look photos to this thread once you get them!
I think they will help calm my nerves too. It will be nice to see my FI before we are up infront of so many people and we will most likely not be alone again for the rest of the night.

We enjoyed getting all of the photos done prior to the ceremony. And it was nice to spend some time just hanging out together before the ceremony. He is, afterall, my favorite person in the world to hang out with. 🙂
