Ahoy there! Im hoping all (or at least some) of you can help me and my future fiancé! We have been searching for the perfect center stone for our solitaire engagement ring and have pretty much decided on a princess cut diamond because we both love it. Here is our concern….. I have a size 3 ¾ ring finger and we haven’t been able to decide on the carat weight that we want. We know we want at least a 1.0 carat and we know we probably won’t go bigger than a 1.5 (unless it’s a screamin deal)… id like to think that im usually a pretty imaginative person, but I am having a huge imagination block when it comes to “visualizing†(as one jewler has told me) the size on my finger. If any of you ladies has a princess cut 1.0-1.5 carat diamond on a little finger like me…. PLEASE FEEL FREE TO SHARE!! Ill take as many examples as I can take!! HAPPY THANKSGIVING!! Wish us luck as we go out to search once more for our diamond tomorrow!!!!

Hi. Take a look at all the diamond ring threads. There will be a lot of them for you to look at. Happy shopping!

I suggest going to actual jewelry stores and trying on rings, it will give you a much better idea of what you like than pictures will.
My ring size is also 3.75, and I thought I wanted at least a carat, but when I tried them on, I thought 1 ct looked too big, even fake (like costume jewelry), on my hand. Which really surprised me, because previously I had been 100% sure I wanted “1 carat”.
I then started looking for something between .5 and .75, the center stone I ended up with is .61 ct.
If you do still want 1 ct after trying on rings at the jewelry store, I suggest looking at diamonds slightly under. The “1.0” mark is a big price jump. If you get a .85-.9 diamond it will not really have difference in how it looks, but the price tag will be less.
This might be helpful too, it is a chart of “finger coverage” based on ring size and diamond size:

My finger is slightly bigger than yours. I have a 1.5c cushion cut and wear a size 4 1/2:

Sorry this is so large, I’m not sure how to make it smaller. The center stone is a 1.06 carat and I have a 5.25 finger. We just really liked the idea of turning the center stone 45 degrees. I’ve only seen 1 other bee with a princess cut in this orientation so far. Best of luck choosing a setting!

@mdserrano: I think the 1 ct would be great on your small finger!! I will show you my ring… the center stone is 1.03 and the band is .60 ct. (4 stones, .15 each) and I think it looks great! 1.25 might look great on me too… but that wasn’t in the budget, lol!

@mdserrano: Sorry, forgot to tell you I’m a 5.25 (but the ring is 5.5, it needs to be sized).

So..this is a bit late, did you find a ring the other day? Here is my ring it’s 1.58 ct and I too am a 5.25 but the ring is 5.5

Not sure if you found something the other day, but here’s a photo of my ring. Size 3.25 finger, diamond is a .6-.7 (I can’t remember). It’s a round cut but the illusion setting makes it look bigger and more square.
