Hi Radish! I'm an old married hag too, but I got married in the Adirondacks! :-)
Oh yes, you sure did! Your wedding was so purty too Bluebell. I'm totally jealous that I didn't have an Adirondack wedding.
What part of the Adirondacks were you in?
About a half hour south of Plattsburgh, right on Lake Champlain! Most of our vendors came over from Burlington, Vermont, and our photographer came from Montreal. They all charged little to no travel costs though!
And your wedding was totally one of my favorites Radish. :-)
I'm getting married in July in Upstate New York, right near Bennington Vermont in the Green Mountains. I have a blog and though it's not 100% focused on the wedding, here's a post that includes a pic of the lake and reception location:

We're having an informal, go-swimming-in-the-lake with BBQ type of affair. Even though I live in the city, I love Upstate York where I grew up and can't imagine getting married anywhere else.
Radish- I'm a big fan of yours and your wedding! You've given me a lot of inspiration.
Hey all! I moved to Ithaca from Boston last summer, and fell so in love with it that we decided to get married here (www.fontainebleauinn.com) in October. Since Ithaca has an awesome farmers' market and Mr.GV proposed at a farmers' market in Davis, CA, we're having a rustic elegance/market kind of theme to the wedding... lots of loose flower arrangements, votives in mason jars, menus on chalkboards, fruit centerpieces, etc. I'm looking for more cheap and creative ideas, so let me know if you have 'em!
Also, I really want to find a makeup person in the area. Anyone know someone in CNY? I'm going to Innovations Salon in Ithaca next week, but I've had a hard time even finding any reviews online. ![]()
Ms. Radish, your haircut is HOT! I love that salon... often walk past it when I'm in Wicker Park and lament having gotten my hair cut elsewhere. (I play with a contemporary music group in Chicago and spend a lot of time there.
)
Patty, your venue looks SO beautiful... I love that area.
AAAHHH!!! Amazing! I already had your Etsy shop favorite-d for BM gifts!
Thankes GorgesViola- my best friend and bridesmaid lives in Ithaca, it sure is Gorges! Haha. I'm sure you get that one a lot. It IS a beautiful area though, and your wedding sounds similar to ours with a rustic feel. Can't beat upstate new york!
I'm so happy to see an Upstate NY board here!
I'm getting married in Lake Placid this summer. Now that it is FINALLY nice weather it is starting become very real (and very exciting)!

I don't have a blog or bio to share-- but I'm getting married at St. Mary's in Waterford, NY with a reception at the Franklin Plaza www.franklinplaza.com in Troy. I'm so glad the Bee has a local section now!

Check out Julie A. Stone Salon in Ithaca for hair and makeup.
It's a little pricey but located right in the commons in Ithaca. I didn't personally use them but heard good things from many people.
I used Loretta's Shear Excellence in Groton which is about 25ish minutes outside of Ithaca near where our reception was. I loved my hair and they did a fantastic job on all of the bridesmaids too. The girls there are so sweet! The best part was the price. No website but they were very helpful when I called (607) 898-4157.
Just finally started my blog a few days ago! I would love for both the local and nonlocal ladies of the hive to take a look.

I will likely be switching it up, refining it, etc. a lot over the coming weeks, but it's finally on its way!
Hi everyone! I have a new blog, too... only slightly embarrassed to say that I started it just so I could apply to be a Bee. ![]()
