Oh my gosh, I feel like my whole morning (aside from actually doing my job, booo) was taken over by drama!  Weddingbee got tense for a bit huh?

Soooo, I was just thinking about my wedding and wanted to know, from the newlyweds- what was your favorite (I know its tough to choose)moment of the day?  Mine was when I saw my husband cry when I walked down the aisle, even though he pretended he didn't.  But aside from the cliche answer, I had the most fun at the after party.  It was so great to just have all of our favorite people around.  I took a moment and sat back to watch them interact (most of them had never met each other) and have fun.

And brides-to-be: what is the moment you're most looking forward to?

@jennifer_espos: I'm so with you! Crazy drama this morning!!

My absolute favorite moment was our first dance. It was the one time where we didn't have a single person interrupt us for a picture or a question or well wishes or anything. It was just me and him, on the dance floor having our first dance as Mr. and Mrs.

And, I'm also with you on the afterparty. My mom stressed me out the entire wedding, so the afterparty was my time to get away from her and enjoy my guests. Fabulous...tiring, but really awesome!

My favorite moment was meeting DH at the end of the aisle, holding his hands, and looking into his eyes.  Our officiant asked us to look out into the audience and appreciate all our family and loved ones out there.  It was a surreal moment... I loved it!  Oh, and the reception/dancing part was really fun too!!  :)

Well we had a surprise moment that was pretty amazing.  When we were pronounced, and started to walk back up the aisle, white rose petals started falling from the dome above us.  My mom had paid the church staff to climb up into the dome and shower us with petals.  I HOPE that someone got a great picture of it!

@2PeasinaPod- That's awesome that you guys took that moment in.  You didn't just go through the motions, you really enjoyed it.  Our first dance was great too!  But I kept going back and forth between feeling silly with everyone watching us and not caring because I was so happy.  And I'm glad ya got to let loose at the after party.  That was also finally the time when no one was in our faces, we were just... there.

@stephanie63087- so you guys aren't gonna practice?  It's totally not necessary, just curious.  You guys will enjoy the time together and find your rhythm.

@rachelrobin- MAKE SURE YOU EAT ALL THE FOOD AT THE COCKTAIL HOUR!  Sorry for the caps.  But we didn't eat much then and it was the best food.  Its honestly by biggest regret, I love food!

@ddubzz- that's a good memory to have.  I was too afraid to look out at the guests!  My husband kept making me giggle at the alter, he was so nervous he kept doing goofball things!  Can't wait for the video!

@mishelleez- why were you guys gonna skip the dances?  Its good that you ended up really enjoying it!

@ella1978- that is so cool!  How sweet of your Mom to do.  I hope someone got a picture of it too.  Did you guys have a videographer too?

We did have a viedographer.  It was a gift from some of our friends.  She didn't get great shots of the ceremony though, because of where they made her stand.. very upset about that.  She has it mic-ed, but not a great image.

My mom is very sneaky!  My photog sent me an email yesterdday about sending my DVDs, so I'll pick out the best photos when I get them and do a recap!

I like this post, it's giving me Weddingbee warm and fuzzies again! :)

I'm most looking forward to the moment when I'm with my dad, and I get to see the look on FI's face when he see's me for the first time as I walk down the aisle.

We had so many amazing moments it's hard to choose..

My husband also cried when I walked down the aisle. And what made it even more special to me was that we had already spent the whole day together taking pictures. It was such a shock and so intense, completely unexpected. It made me cry too.

A close second was after the recessional going into a private room in the church crying/hugging each other b/c we had just gotten married! I'm tearing up right now..

Seeing him for the first time, our 'first look' was extra special.

Being introduced as Mr. & Mrs. was awesome as well!

One of my favorite moments was much later in the reception, when our guests spontaneously circled around us during our band's rendition of the Beatle's Hey Jude...It was so awesome to just have everyone around us singing and us in the center happy as can be...Here's a picture from it, hopefully it works!

Love this post! I think my first favorite was also seeing my husband cry when I walked down the aisle... which also made me cry! :) My second favorite was when we were taking pictures with the bridal party in the park after the wedding. Somehow we ended up playing volleyball. The crowning moment was when my sister, the MOH, dove for the ball, in her dress and all. Ended up with a huge grass stain but it was awesome! Can't wait to see the pictures! :)

Love this post!  I have two moments that really stick out for me.

First was walking down the aisle.  I started down with my dad, and was looking at all the faces gathered, and waving hello to people, then I looked up and saw my love at the end, and really, seriously, everything else melted away.  Kind of awesome.  :)  We walked on down, and got married, but locking eyes with him as I walked down the aisle was our real "holy crap we're doing this!" moment.  :)

Second was dancing with my friends.  I kind of obsess over Bonnie Tyler's song "Total Eclipse of the Heart", so when it came on, all my girls circled around and we all belted it out, dancing.  Kind of great.  :)

    Great post!

Mine was taking pictures with my DH just after the ceremony and before we joined the cocktail hour. It was just the two of us walking around with our (amazing!) photographer and my hubby kept whispering so many sweet things to me. I loved having that time for the two of us... so full of love... so cheesy but true!

@ella- crisis averted, thanks!  And I can't wait for your recap.  Looks like I can't do mine until early September, wth?

@prettylizy- that will be a very sweet moment with your Dad.  Ya think you'll be super emotional?

@moderndaisy- that's so sweet.  I love a guy who isn't afraid of his emotions!

@trailmix- the picture is so cute!  How on earth everyone spontaneously broke into a circle is beyond me but how cool is that?

@jyng- hilarious!  She's got heart huh?  At least the formal photos were done.  I am impressed that you guys had time to even get in some volleyball!

@rocktsrgn- I kept saying 'holy crap we're doing this' in my head too!  I'm sure my husband was too.  Its really surreal!

@pixelmepretty- be sure to enjoy those moments, you'll want to remember how you felt at those times.

As I read some of these, my eyes almost start to water! They are all so sweet!

I am most looking forward to my FH seeing me for the first time, moments before becoming his wife, I can't wait to see his reaction. I also am so looking forward to the honeymoon.

My absolute favorite moment was when my dad and sister gave toasts.  My sister's made me bawl and my dad lead the ENTIRE room in a round of "HUZZAHs!"  It was incredible.

    Miss Chapstick    September 2009

I think my favorite moment was our first look. My husband's face was just priceless, and our photographer snapped the perfect picture of it, so I have permanent documentation :)

A close second, which is strange because I was only with our coordinator, was on the elevator down to meet the hubs for our first look. My coordinator turned to me and said, "Your fiance is just so sweet. I was bringing him down for the first look, and I asked if he was nervous at all, and he replied, 'Not at all, I'm just so excited to marry Miss Chapstick, and I've been waiting for this moment for far  too long.' "I burst into tears. I just felt so loved during that moment, even though he was nowhere near me.

    Total cheesefest, I know.

All of the obviously sweet husband stories hold true for us as well.

However, one of my most memorable points in the wedding will be my 85 year old grandfather (with a replaced hip) that was "getting low" literally on the dance floor wearing his socks and his flip flops (that I provided but my mom thought no one would wear).

@sudslover- thanks so much, I felt like we needed something pleasant to talk about.  That was intense earlier.

@rachel_leigh- did you get video of it?  You'll probably always want to remember what they said.

Ohhhhhhh this is such a good thread! There is SO MUCH that I'm looking forward to! I hope it never ends! Our first dance, my Dad escorting me down the aisle, our father daughter dance, our wish tree, the cake cutting! The bouquet and garter toss.....and without a doubt, getting ready in the morning. I can't wait for that!

My favorite moments were coming down the aisle and seeing his face. His eyes were all watery, our first dance and our moment to actually sit down, eat and enjoy the entire moment of getting married. I miss that day so much. It was our day and to have everyone there for us was amazing. It was so increadible to think wow they are all here just for us. I am spending the rest of my life with this man and his family. It was so surreal. I am tearing now just thinking about that day. So sad its over.

Side note. MAKE SURE TO EAT. I missed out on a killer spinach dip apparently. EVERYONE talked about it LOL

There were so many great moments, but these three stand out to me...

Seeing my stepdad for the first time:

@Misshelen- it will all go by so fast!  I know everyone probably tells ya that.  But make sure to remind yourself to take some time to just take it all in.  I literally kept saying to myself "take it all in", and I said it a couple time to my husband.

@thefuturemcbride- that's so sweet.  I have never experience love at first sight but I'd never deny it exist.  I bet those 2 years have gone by pretty quickly huh?

@dorsay- are you doing a recap for weddingbee?  If so I can't wait to see it.

@clarebee- the boat ride sounds so romantic.  What a great idea!  You guys should take tons of pictures of each other on there.

@jize318- so funny, we missed awesome spinach dip too!  wth.  I know every told us to be sure to eat, and we definitely ate at the reception.  But the cocktail hour is always the best part of a wedding, in my opinion and we missed it all.  We did get a brocolli rabe panini and a piece of shrimp... whoopdy freaking do!

@daniellemybelle- omg how cute is that?  He was so emotional, and so was his best man.  That's so sweet.  The picture of you with your step father made me tear up.  And your brother looks like such a sweety, too cute.

These are so sweet!  I think the moment I'm most looking forward to is seeing him for the first time that day and giving him a big hug.  And after that taking a moment together when the ceremony is over.  Oh and getting ready with my mom, making sure she feels as beautiful as she is.  Can't wait!!
