Who here watched last night's episode and was freaking out?
DH reminded me over and over again that it's just a show but I was still shocked by the ending. I didn't see it coming because I never considered that possibiity.
Let's talk here about the episodes!
@SleepingWithNuns: As soon as I heard the last zombie in the barn, I knew it was Sophia. I wasn't surprised that Rick was the only one who could shoot her, either. I was pretty upset, though.

i knew when he started freaking out and they started shooting the zombie barn captives.. that the little girl would be the last to walk out.. its quite beautiful if you look at it.. see the guy didn't want to shoot his loved ones even if they were zombies and they didn't understand till she walked out.. and ofcourse RICK steps up and does what needs to be done cause mr.hotshot.. feels like a moron!
@malmal: I know, of course Shane wouldn't wanna do it, after all that blubbering he did to make everyone feel stupid.
OH man. I cannot WAIT for next week when Rick and everyone else reem out Shane. He is such a douchebag.
When I heard about the barn being filled with walkers, I had a feeling she was in there.
Also, Glen's girlfriend makes me INSANE.
@SleepingWithNuns: I kind of hate Shane. I was really hoping someone would shoot him before he let the zombies out.
@.twist.: She's a crazy b****. FI and I started calling her Lady Macbeth after she told Glenn that he needed to be running things.
@GreenEyedMoon: I was JUST going to say that I was waiting for (what's his name--the guy that always wear the fishermans hat and keeps gaurd on the camper) him to shoot him when they had the meeting in the forest over the guns and shane was threatening him. Shane is just a bad guy and I'm waiting for him to just SNAP!
@GreenEyedMoon: He has seriously gone nuts. I was surprised that he didn't try to kill Dale in the woods. I love Dale.
ETA: I never know what's going on with her. One minute she wants to sex him, the next minute she ignores him. Sex him. Egg him. Sex him. I just am SO CONFUSED. and yet.... he's still head over tea kettle for her.
@SleepingWithNuns: My hubby and I are addicted to the walking dead. I wish they would just continue the season rather than having the break until Feb for new episodes.
I agree with y'all Shane is nuts.
i love dale too! such a sweet old guy... but someone has to go crazy or else its not a proper end of the world scenario!...
when i found out shane shot that guy.. i said.. yea maybe i'd have done it too to save my life.. IF I HAD SOMEONE TO LIVE FOR.. what does Shane have other then his PRIDE! ughhh
@SleepingWithNuns: Dale isn't my favorite because he keeps getting in everyone's business, but I'm glad he's not dead.
@.twist.: At this point, I told FI last night, I think sex with a walker would be better than sex with Lady Maccrazypants.

@mamal: I guess my issue with him shooting Otis, was that Otis was keeping up just fine. I think they could have both survived. Shane is just on a killing spree and he's lost control about how to handle this lifestyle.
He says Rick can't handle this "world", however, he's the one who can't handle it. Rick has it right. Survive, group, keep the human race alive.
I was shocked as well, for some reason I was really sure they'd find her alive. But it made so much sense - and it was so painful to watch Rick shoot her. Shane just burns me up, ugh. I wish he and the blonde would finally split and fall down a ravine or something together.
I will say, the one thing I'm really looking forward to is seeing how the relationship between Daryl and Carol moves forward after this. She's going to need someone to turn to now. I hope he doesn't screw it up!
@.twist.: They're taking a mid-season break until I think February. Probably because zombie apocalypse isn't too popular around the holidays with most people lol (and I'm sure AMC will want to be running xmas programming up the wazoo like every other channel)
@GreenEyedMoon: and @.twist.: The show is going on a break until Feb due to the holidays. This was the mid season finale last night. I was pretty bummed as well and I'm not sure I can wait all that time to find out what happens next
@GreenEyedMoon: yeah Glen's girlfriend is crazy, but I think it's cute he's been so protective and sweet to her. He's such a softie at heart
@.twist.: I agree about Otis. He was keeping up, so I was surprised Shane decided to kill him anyways. they would've made it, but he had to go on killing him. I just want to know what Shane meant when he was talking to Lori and seemed to make a threat to her about the baby. I know he wants the baby to be his, but he seemed like he would be having revenge if she didn't let him see it and it did turn out to be his. Either way Shane is fucked up and Andrea refuses to believe Dale about it.
@jocember: I've been thinking a lot about the Daryl/Carol relationship as well. Especially after she's turned all caring and concerned about him. The moment where she was telling him not to go yesterday as he was saddling the horse and then he freaked out on her, I thought they were going to kiss for a moment. I'm not sure why but I get the vibe of a romantic relationship starting between them.
kldhgsklhlsdgkhgs!!! i knew Sophia would be the last zombie and it drove me crazy that they didn't just shoot Shane whenever he was opening the barn door! c'mon, guys! I agree that they needed to get through to Herschel (which it kinda looked like they did what with the rounds in the chest) but hot damn, what if the zombies overtook the group?? and the sound might draw more! Shane and crazy ass Andrea are liabilities, boot them off the island!
@SleepingWithNuns: I think Andrea realized how fucked up Shane was last night. I think everyone did.
When he threatened Lori, I was so SURE he was going to try to kill Rick.
I was so sad when I saw the little girl! I never thought that she would be in the Barn with the other walkers.
I just don't get why the Old man didn't say that maybe she was in there. The cat was already out of the box so Why couldnt he have mentioned that there was a young girl walker!?
Anyway..really sad. It was a great episode.
@.twist.: I hope she realized how fucked up he is. The last thing we need is a pregnant crazy lady who's baby daddy is shane.

@GreenEyedMoon: that's how i felt when the first season ended! waiting a year was TORTURE, at least it's only a few months!
@nycfashionista: That confused me, too. He wanted them off his land, and he knew they were staying to look for her, so why not tell them she's a zombie and then let them move along?
Also, yesterday was the Mid Season Finale.
So the show is coming back in February! ugh!
Any of you ladies read the series? They've cleary taken a different story line than the series (much like dexter)...I as SO surprised to see Sophia.
In the grahic series, Glen and Maggie get married and take care of Sophia like their own kid <<confused>>

@futuremrsmaista: I haven't read it, but I'm not surprised to hear that it's vastly different.
I love that Dale has been kept as a recurring character, he was supposed to be in just a few episodes...he doesn't appear in the comic book at all!
I kinda figured that Sophia would be in the barn; I love how that scene was executed, so good. It's taken Shane's character to a whole other level of crazy, and it'll be interested to see where his character is taken next year.
I wonder if we ever find out who the true baby daddy is to Loris unborn child?!
Andrea annoys me sooooo much!! When she accidently shot Dale I just about lost the plot, I was so mad at her, haha. I love how emotionally invested I am in this series, it's kinda fun :)

@GreenEyedMoon: Because then they would know about the zombies in the barn and knew that they would kill them. Herschel firmly believes (d) that the walkers are still human in some way and that killing them = murder.
@MsNarwhal: But they already knew the barn was full of walkers. So, at that point, why not let the cat out of the bag?
@GreenEyedMoon: I think that would've been a really hard decision. Just because they knew it was full of walkers, didn't mean they'd go looking at who was in there. Maybe he was hoping they'd just let it go? Plus, he probably knew some would want to kill them, and how to you go about killing a little girl you've been looking for for days? It was pretty evident that no one (including dumbasfuck Shane) wasn't about to put a bullet in her head. Rick, as always, took the initiative because it had to be done. She could have stayed in there until a "possible" cure.
@nycfashionista: I never thought of it like that, but it makes perfect sense!
I sort of watch this show against my will because FI LOOOOVES it, but I'll admit it's interesting. Last night's episode was quite a doozie. Haha. I was sooo nervous when they were leading the two walkers out of the swamp. I was like "OMG SOMEONE'S GONNA GET BIT!" But they didn't. And I agree with PPs about why the eff did no one physically try to stop Shane from opening the barn door, rather than just standing there in disgust and shock. I also agree that Shane is a friggin' douchebag, but he's fine as hell, so I can't help but like him. Haha!
I'm really not sure what way they're gonna take the show or how they're gonna move on after that zombie-killin' spree, but I can't wait to find out!
@CarolinaCola: Well, I think Rick would have stopped him if Hershel would have taken the walker from him. Not like he could just drop the stick holding the walker. Also, would you have ran up to an incredibly fit, gun trained, police officer who's clearly lost his mind? I wouldn't!!!
@GreenEyedMoon: Well Herschel didn't know that they knew about the barn walkers until this past episode and then he went zombie fishing in the swamp so there was no time between then for him to tell them.
Ohmigosh I kind of knew the Sophia thing was coming, but I was totally devastated when it actually happened. The end of last night's episode was hands down one of the best of the series.
I would be lying if I said I wasn't in bed last night looking around my room for zombie Sophia.
@.twist.: Oh, yeah. That's true about Rick. I forgot that he was telling him to take the pole. I'm not the best with remembering details, obviously.
