What’s your favorite meal to cook?

Oooh recently its sushi- we used to only ever eat it at restaurants but we decided to start trying to make our own and it is SO much fun! I mix around fillings to whatever I feel like and its fun trying new ‘made-up’ types of sushi haha. Some people probably think im killing it but it tastes so good!

We also love cooking mexican food!

What’s something that you only want to go out to eat?

Indian food and curries. Chicken Tikka Masala / Passanda is so good but never tastes the same from a jar as it does from a takeaway or restaurant. Just to add as well- ive never had indian food as good as in the UK where I live. Ive tried it abroad but its just not the same 🙁 (except curries in Sri Lanka- they were amazing).

What’s your least favorite food?

Funnily enough -fish, even though I love sushi. I love cod and chips but ‘fishy’ fish like salmon is just not for me.

What food is popular where you live?

Chinese food! Pretty much every british family orders a chinese takeaway (usually chicken fried rice or chow mein or sweet and sour chicken balls) like once every couple of months. Indian food is also popular.

Sushi is picking up but still not there yet, and recently I’ve seen more Thai restaurants popping up so I think thai food is getting more popular.

Great idea for a thread btw! And also do you have a recipe for dumplings? I’ve never attempted to make them myself!

Yum. I’m always hungry (haha) so this is a great thread!

What’s your favorite meal to cook? – I hate cooking. So probably something in the slow cooker like a beef brisket with potatoes and carrots 🙂

What’s something that you only want to go out to eat? Indian!

What’s your least favorite food? Korean – Just not a fan 🙁 And I hate cilantro

What food is popular where you live? Oh gosh…everything is pretty popular right now if it’s at a trendy place. Our restaurant scene has exploded with some amazing places lately!

Fun thread!

My favorite meal to cook: hobo casserole. I love cooking it because it’s comfort food from my childhood and the men in my house can’t eat it fast enough.

Food I only go out to eat: sushi, I would never even attempt to make it

Least favorite food: pork roast. I just can’t stand it even though I like other forms of pork. DH loves it and ill make it for him but ill make myself something else, anything else.

What food is popular where I live: Steak and corn on the cob grilled, it’s Nebraska after all. Also Runza’s. My brother will beg me to send him a case of them every six months or so. Ill torture him occasionally and text him pictures of myself eating a nice hot fresh runza.

Love this!!

What’s your favorite meal to cook? I love to cook in general, so it is hard to say. I get excited when I find a new recipe to try, etc, so this answer is always evolving when as I constantly find ‘new faves’

What’s something that you only want to go out to eat? WINGS. I love wings, seriously. Good wings are so hard to find too, but I know I could never cook them as good as some of our fave places.

What’s your least favorite food? Least favorite food…well, I rarely cook fish, even though I love it, because I cannot cook it. The one genre of food we typically we ‘pass up’ when discussing our out to dinner options is probably Italian. I much perfer cooking it, then eating it out?!
What food is popular where you live? Breweries/All-American fare. There are a ton around here!

What’s your favorite meal to cook?

Turkey chili.

What’s something that you only want to go out to eat?

Everything! Hah. Steak fajitas at La Sandia

What’s your least favorite food?

Cooked spinach. Yuck.

What food is popular where you live?

I live in the DMV where there’s a lot of diversity. Food trucks are HUGE out here and you can get pretty much anything you want.

Ill play!

What’s your favorite meal to cook?

I love this quinoa casserole that I found on pinterest! Its so yummy….black beans and onions on the bottom, a layer of cheese, quinoa, and then roasted bell peppers on top and cheese on top of that! It makes great leftovers for work too!

What’s something that you only want to go out to eat?

Sushi!

What’s your least favorite food?

Probably middle eastern food or anything spicy.

What food is popular where you live?

EVERYTHING. (unfortunately) a lot of middle eastern and Indian food around here. I live in a city known for the amazing food so there is a pretty large variety. Unfortunately, I haven’t found a lot of great Chinese 🙁 which is one of my favorites!

KateA17: Im the same way with fish…I love sushi but do not love cooked fish!

Fun, I’ll play!

What’s your favorite meal to cook? Taco night! Recently we’ve been doing lettuce wraps with lamb meat for our taco night to mix it up a bit, and it tastes great!

What’s something that you only want to go out to eat? Indian food. I love Indian food but I’d rather my neighbors not have to experience my love of Indian food with me..

What’s your least favorite food? OmbreBee got it – cooked spinach is not for me either. I also don’t like the odd little shrimpy things Germans say is a delicacy.

What food is popular where you live? Fondue. Chocolate. Yeaaah, life is good.

What’s your favorite meal to cook?

Fresh pasta! We don’t do it often because of all the work involved and all the calories but its so much fun to do together.

On a regular basis, cobb salad! We eat it once a week and I must say I make a mean one.

What’s something that you only want to go out to eat?

Whole fish. I’ve tried to make it at home and I just can’t debone properly. It also never tastes as good as it does at a nice restaurant.

What’s your least favorite food?

Olives. They’re really the only thing I cannot physically eat.

What food is popular where you live?

Right now, tacos. Everything is about god damn tacos and Mexican restaurants.

In general, poutine. Poutine will never get old, its a Canadian delicacy. Haha!

TiaMP: ahh thankyou! I’m actually shocked its not more complicated! I always thought dumplings would be insanely difficuly to make. I’ve saved the recipe – now I’m thinking there should be a thread where everyone posts their favourite recipe so we could save them all haha.

KC-2722: most fish you can’t really debone, you fillet them. I can scrounge up a good how too fillet a fish video if you want, it’s actually pretty easy once you learn the trick.

What’s your least favorite food?

mushrooms. raw mushrooms.

What food is popular where you live?

I live at the beach so, seafood. shrimp and grits, oyster roasts, crab everything. yum!
