-Up
-A Beautiful Mind
-The Departed

I've seen some pretty bad movies, but I can't stand any kind of Bruce Lee/Jackie Chan action type movie. Or any movie with "The Rock" in it. ugh. I'm also not really into romantic comedies. I guess I have to be in the mood for them.
Comedy: Wedding Crashers, Superbad
Romance: The Notebook
Action: Inception
Horror: Silent Hill
Musical: Moulin Rouge, Newsies
I can never pick favorites out of these things!
Classic: The Wizard of Oz
Fantasy: Harry Potter movies, The Chronicles of Narnia
Comedy: Wedding Crashers
Indie: Lars and the Real Girl
Drama: The Prestige (mystery as well?), Batman Begins
Romance/Romantic Comedy: The Notebook, He's Just Not that Into You, PS I Love You
Animated: Beauty & the Beast, Toy Story
Worst movies: Cube, Silence of Sleep, pretty much anything horror, The Village
Some great movies up there! I love Christmas Vacation, Superbad, The Green Mile, Shawshank Redemption, Fried Green Tomatoes, The Color Purple... ah, so many!
Oh man I can never think of my favs when asked to list them, but I'll give it a try:
BEST:
Classic: Sound of Music, Father Goose
Comedy: Knocked Up, Sorority Boys (I know...but it makes me laugh so hard...), Super Troopers, Anchorman, Billy Madison
Drama: Dead Poets Society, Million Dollar Baby, Green Mile, Forrest Gump, Life As a House
Romance: Circle of Friends, The Notebook, Love Actually, Dirty Dancing
Foreign: Life is Beautiful, Amelie
Animated: The Little Mermaid, Up, Shrek movies
Fantasy: Chronicles of Narnia (I'm not into many fantasy movies)
Indie: Sunshine Cleaning
Christmas (totally needs to be its own category): Elf, Christmas in Connecticut, Santa Claus 1 & 2
Horror: The Exorcist (original), Silence of the Lambs, the first two Saw movies
WORST (in no particular order): Most horror movies, anything with Steven Seagal, Little Nicky, the Baby Genius movies, 2012
Ooh I forgot worst!
Worst: The Happening (just awful, DH and I wanted to walk out of the theater!), The Family Stone. I'm sure there are more but those two jump right out at me.
Top 5 Best:
The Hangover
The Notebook
The Pianist
The Departed
Pirates of the Carribbean
And I only have one worst...lol
REMEMBER ME....HATED it. lol

I've been looking at my friends' favorite movie lists on Facebook and seeing some pretty interesting choices. I tried to make a top 10 list but honestly drawing a blank on lots of the great movies I've seen. There are some that jump out at me because I've seen them so many times:
- Best Classic: Bridge on the River Kwai (never gets old, plus whistling that tune is so much fun)
- Best Fantasy: Lord of the Rings series (my favorite books of all time, and the movies did them justice. The good looking actors were an added gratituous bonus)
- Best Comedy: What About Bob (wasn't popular critically or in the box office, but it's still funny to me after 20 years)
- Best International: Life is Beautiful (So heartbreaking but poignant)
- Best indie: Office Space (awesome story of my everyday corporate life)
I still need to think of #1 favorites in drama, mystery, horror and romance. Those are harder to pick.
My pick for worst movie of all time would be Midnight Express for personal reasons. Such a horrible, biased, unfair and one-sided portrayal of my home country. Even after the director and screenwriter both later admitted to sensationalizing the story and distorting the facts for "dramatic effect", the cliche it created will never disappear from pop culture. If only I had a dollar for everytime I heard a bad "have you ever been in a Turkish prison?" joke...
