Is anyone working with this company?  Laura (the owner?) was REALLY fantastic to work with at first.  Their designs are so cute and I was sooo excited about getting my STD's and invites from them!  But right after we finalized our STD's and were about to move on to customizing our invites she became completely non-responsive.

It's been almost 3 weeks now of no communication from her whatsoever (she used to write me back within 24 hours!).  I've emailed her several times and have even called several times begging her to respond, and I haven't heard.  I'm starting to panic!

The last time she wrote she said she was trying to get over the flu.  I'm starting to get worried that she's very sick.  Has anyone heard from her?  I'm not trying to slander her reputation ... I'm truly worried.

We are going through the same thing!  We finalized our STDs almost two weeks ago and Laura said she would send us and invoice, but we never received it.  I sent her three e-mails and a voice message and have tried to call her several times.  I hope she's alright. I wasn't aware that she was sick.

I too am worried! At first I just assumed she was trying to get caught up with orders since she temporarily shut down her etsy site, but now that I haven't heard from her in over a month (and neither have you girls) I'm thinking it might be something worse...but hoping not. Please let me know if either of you hear anything!

I'm checking in/worried too, as I've had a similiar experience. I haven't heard from Laura in almost 3 weeks. The last email from her said she'd send an invoice, but she never did.

Please let me know if you hear anything!! What are your plans for invitations?

WOW! I was wondering the same thing and was beginning to freak out a little. I was in the very early stages of my invites, but was ready to buy... I wonder what happened.

whoah... I was also communicating with Laura about designing maps/travel cards for us and suddenly stopped hearing from her. The last we talked, I sent her info. on all our details, location of wedding, date and time, our names... and never heard back from her after that. I had given her the thumbs up to design, and was just waiting to hear back from her. I presume the next step would've been my payment and her design.

I emailed her and sent her messages on Etsy and no response. I just looked at my email and the first "Hi haven't heard from you..." was on 12/4 but some of you girls are saying you last heard from her two weeks ago... so that seems odd to me.

I checked her etsy shop after a few unreturned emails and noticed she had added a listing AFTER I had stopped hearing from her...so it seems she was still "working" and so I sent her a msg on etsy but, again, she never responded.

She was great when we were talking, and I love, love her designs...which is why I (and I'm sure all of you) have tried pursuing her so much. Hope she *is* ok.

hi everyone!  thanks so much for your posts.  i don't know why but i didn't get any notification from wb that there were responses, so i'm reading all of your posts for the first time now.

i've been checking her etsy site and saw that several folks have posted positive reviews very recently, so i can only assume that she is continuing to work with other buyers.  before i read your posts i really thought she had blacklisted me and that i had done something wrong! (although i truly can't think of anything i did that might have offended her).

please please keep the rest of us updated if you hear from her.  i had planned to send out my STD's in early march and haven't been able to wrap my head around the fact that i might have to start working with another vendor from scratch.  i am so in love with what she created for me that i can't move on ... but it's getting to the point where i really need to start looking into alternatives.

any suggestions on other vendors with similar styles and reasonable prices?

    thanks ladies!!!

Hey there! That's really frustrating and discouraging to hear... I checked her etsy site for negative reviews for that same reason and wasn't able to find anything either so I'm assuming everybody else has been holding out hope like us! It's good to hear someone else felt "blacklisted" because I did too! Unfortunately, I haven't found anything similar because her work is so unique and stylized, but I have found a couple of other affordable designers on etsy that do nice work and are very responsive. Check out VivaLaViolette and 2bsquared. Hope this helps...and good luck, everyone! Oh, and I wasn't getting updates either...make sure they're not going to your spam box!

Hey, I just looked up this shop to see her work... and it's gone? Has it been gone the entire time?

I might consider looking elsewhere, ladies! That is not a good sign...

Yes, her work has been gone although she had a notice that she was temporarily closing the shop and not taking new orders so she could catch up on spring orders. Now everything is gone! So weird...

I've been working with Laura @ Letter Punch Design (lilribbers on etsy) since the beginning of the year.  I told her I wanted my invitations to be sent out mid-late March as my wedding is in June.  Almost 3 weeks ago she sent me my proof and I emailed her requesting some changes.  That was the last time I heard from her.  Even during the months of January and early February she was VERY slow to respond.  She did tell me she was having troubles with her paper vendor - but that does not excuse her lack or responses.  I hope she is not sick and is ok - but I am beyond upset that she will not respond to me after numerous phone calls and emails.  I gave her until today to get back to me and she has not.  Therefore, I am using another etsy vendor.

I cannot believe she is letting so many of us down.  I will be sure to tell everyone I know not to use her.  Even if she is sick or too backed up - there is absolutely no reason she should not get back to me to give me a timeline or date or something!  I'm heartbroken as I loved her invitations and my proof was amazing.  If I were you all - I would move on too.  Not worth the frustration - planning a wedding should be fun, and dealing with Laura definitely has been nothing but a headache!

I have been having the same experience, and like some of you, I totally thought it was personal! I'm relieved that it's not, but that doesn't help with getting my invitations. I had gotten to the point of preliminary design with Laura when she disappeared, but Jamie Konet is turning out to be really helpful! I am just starting the process, but she's very responsive and confident she can match the themework, which is awesome! I was also really discouraged at starting over especially since I already send the save the dates with this theme! She has a store on Etsy http://www.etsy.com/shop/jamiekonet. She gave me the thumbs up to pass along this info to any of the rest of you who were far along in the invitation process like me! Hope this helps!!

I am not using this vendor, and I hope she is okay, but I wanted to let you know I've heard of some vendors getting in over their heads and they just drop off the map completely.  Unfortunately that may be the case with this gal.  As hard as I know it will be to find someone else for your budget and your style you wanted, I would suggest you look elsewhere becuase what if she finally responds and takes your money and then you never get your product?  Sad day.

That's so funny, Curlysue, because my girlfriend JUST told me that was a relatively common occurence with some vendors. They take too many orders and become completely incapable of working any longer and drop off. Very sad...but I guess better than the alternatives? Really has caused a lot of stress for a lot of us :(

hi everyone, thanks for all of your posts and responses.  it's somewhat of a relief that we can all commiserate together because i was just in complete shock and disbelief about what's been going on.  it's forcing me to face reality.  i kept telling myself that this would work itself out.  i gave her until today to get back to me, and since i haven't heard, i guess i'm going to have to figure something out over the weekend.  this is so disappointing, but really appreciate the support you gals have provided.

keep us updated if you do hear from her.  good luck to everyone in finding another vendor, and keep those helpful tips (i.e., other vendors) coming!

I am now using http://www.etsy.com/shop/SugaredInk - and she has been super responsive and fantastic as I am in a rush to get my invitations now.  I am so upset that Laura has been so unprofessional.  If she does show back up on etsy - I will definitely be giving her bad reviews!  Sorry everyone!  Although like a few of you have mentioned - it's good to know I'm not the only one Laura has blown off!

I have also been using Laura from LetterPunch and have had the same thing happening with me.  When I contacted her early on, she was so fast with responses to my design, adding and changing things quickly.  She sent me my final proof in the mail fast, and I've been using it with all of my wedding planning.  I took it to show my florist for inspiration, and I even had my Save The Dates designed to match.

Now that I'm trying to order my actual invitations she's MIA.  I last heard from her a month ago.  Yesterday I tried calling her and her voice mail box was full in the morning, in the afternoon I was able to leave a message.  My plan is to call and email her daily until I hear back.

Has anyone sent her money and not received their invites?  That's what I'm really concerned about.  I feel as though I'm stuck though, and don't want any other invitations...especially since I've already sent my Save The Dates.

You'd think vendors dealing with Brides would understand that customer service is a MUST...you're dealing with people planning a HUGE day in their life, for most of us the most important day in our life up until now.  So frustrating.

I am in the same boat with her,,,,,,however I have already paid my 50% deposit. I was hoping to have my invites out in april and now there is no way I can do that. I am panicing that I have been ripped off, I've already given her 250.00 and I cannot afford to go with someone else. I am so upset and I don't know what to do. I have emailed her so many times and have no received a response.

I just talked to a girl on weddingbells and she told me laura actually emailed her the last 2 days!!!!! So she is obviously checking her email.....

DOes anyone have her phone number??? I am going to try and phone her.

Wait, you are KIDDING me!?!?!  She's been in touch with someone in the past 2 days?  I cannot believe what a terrible person she is.  Good hell - her facebook profile picture is her at her wedding - so she's been in our shoes!  And yet - she is screwing us all!  I am livid!

Her number is (312) 391- 7414 - good luck getting through though, she NEVER answers!

Let's keep one another posted.  Even though I've moved on to a far more professional vendor for my invitations - I am still so upset at Laura - I want to be sure more brides know to avoid her like the plague!

I am sorry this is happening to each of you. I am DIYing my invitations, so haven't had this experience.

I just wanted to let you know that if you paid with PayPal or another credit card, you might have recourse, unless it is past their timeline. Just contact PayPal or your credit card company and tell them what happened and they will do a chargeback for that amount and you will get your money back.

Good luck to each of you.

If you have made a deposit and not received the product outlined in your contract, you should DEFINITELY turn a complaint into the BBB! At the very least, they may be able to help you recoop your money.

She is giving all of us in the wedding biz a bad rap! I hope you girls find a much more professional and upstanding vendor. The etsy shops that have been suggested look like a great place to start.

I agree with the other bees on this.

I clicked on that site and wondered why there were no items in her store?  Said she was catching up?  Is she sick?

I'd contact Etsy directly and also paypal too.  If she is unable to finish them, then she needs to communicate this and return the $.

My invite designer is on etsy and she's done a great job and is always in constant communication w/me.  She's great.  I'd be a nutcase if suddenly she poofed and disappeared on me.

Good luck in resolving this.  I hope it gets worked out.  I saw some of the invites your designer made before and they looked really great.

Keep us posted if you hear any more info on her. I found another designer who has been great, but I recommended her to one of my friends b/c I had such great luck with her and now my girlfriend is in the same boat! Her save the dates are supposed to be here this week. I feel so terrible and want to help her - if you hear anything else, it would be great to know. This is so unfortunate.

I do hope she ok, but I would really love if she would let me know if she can't do them. I am starting to freak out a little now. Good luck to everyone. Post any updates.

Here's the email I just got from Laura.  I know a lot of folks here have been disappointed so everyone should make their own decision on how to move forward.  I love her work so I'm going to give her another chance.  Just wanted to pass on the info:

    Good Afternoon,

I sincerely apologize for any frustration, stress and panic that we have caused to anxious brides who so eagerly wanted to work with us. It was with absolutely no ill intent that proofed orders went unfulfilled as verbally promised. Due to an emergency in my husband's family I am only now back in the studio with access to email and the time to get back to each individual. I'm slowly piecing through hundreds of emails and messages that were left. We have no intention of ignoring any brides or to be deceitful in any way. We're a small studio that for two plus years had not a single complaint, but as life will happen, unfortunate things occurred at our busiest time. Only one bride had paid us a deposit in the past month and that was returned as of yesterday. We are now rushing her order through at her request and will more than happily do the same for you. I know we have been accused of some major wrong-doing on some message boards and some girls are dead set on making it known, but we would never collect money on something we did not supply. If you choose to continue working with us you have every right to let others know that we dropped the ball on communication, but hopefully we will not tarnish our reputation on providing quality products and design.

We can supply the products as proofed by next week, however this week's delivery is not something I can promise at the moment. Please let me know if this is something you'd like to pursue. If not, I make my sincerest apologies and wish you both much happiness.

    Best,
    Laura

Her apology seems pretty sincere.  Life happens, whether you are a vendor or not.  She seems to be trying to make up for it! Hopefully you ladies get some fabulous invites for all you've had to deal with!

Wow, what drama!  She should have been a bit more responsible with this... emergency or not, she should have posted info on her website or etsy or had an auto response email set.  Good luck ladies!  I'm sure there are more vendors on Etsy that can help you.

Life happens! Sounds sincere to me, but I'm a firm believer in second chances. She's been nothing but nice to me, and I've only heard positive feedback until this.

I do understand the frustration, don't get me wrong - but it sounds as if it's all being sorted out. Better late than never!

If she has the time and is willing to take me on, I'm still going to order from her - there's no doubt that her work is beautiful (and affordable)!

Her work is great, but it doesn't take 40 seconds to log into etsy, post a message saying you had a family emergency and will respond as soon as possible, and then attend to what the deal is.

If you had a real job, you'd have to explain to someone, right? I just don't get her excuse, but then, I'm not using her so I guess I don't have to. Just makes me mad for all the other brides who had to change their mind, who were so close to using her but needed their stuff faster.

I don't buy it - like LaborofLove said - she could have posted something on etsy.  A week or so ago it said she was busy and not taking any new orders.  If she had time to update that - then she should have had time to update that she was not available AT ALL for a couple weeks and send an apology.  And honestly, even being away from work - it's 2010 and everyone, everywhere has access to email!

Plus - it seems like she's given SEVERL different excuses to people (ie. problems with paper vendor, family emergency, she had the flu, etc.) - I am not a cold-hearted person, but she has really caused me huge stress and I haven't gotten so much as a response or anything.  I'm will continue to remain extremly disappointed in her lack of customer service and communication.

I hope those of you who continue to use Laura and send her money don't end up getting screwed!

I am inclined to be sympathetic, and I'm willing to continue working with her.  Up till now, she has been the fastest vendor to respond to emails (usually within 12-24 hours), and has always been pleasant, willing to work with my budget and answer questions.

I agree with some of the other posters--life happens, but then you deal with things after.

If one of my loved ones was ?really sick or dying (I'm speculating--don't know what her situation was), work would definitely be the furthest from my mind.

Being self-employed, you don't *have* to check in with a boss every day, so maybe she really didn't get a chance to update her etsy site or send out a zillion apology emails last week.  Sure, it sucked for people trying to reach her, but she was in contact with some of her clients throughout February (maybe less so in the last week), so sounds like she was *trying* to put out fires here and there.

And although we all like to think differently, our own weddings are MUCH more important to us than they are to other people!  She wasn't trying to cause panic...

So yes, I am still going to work with her, and I hope others will give her a break also.
