Would it look weird if we did letterpress for our invites, but printed the rsvp’s using regular printing? I love the look of letterpress but would also like to save some money! I’m thinking about getting the invitations printed but Mercurio Bros, and the rsvp’s by CatPrint. Would it look weird to have two different kinds of printing, or is that a normal thing to do?

That’s what I am doing! I figure they don’t even hold on to the rsvp’s so why should it matter? I’ve seen a thread here or there with a lot of other people doing the same thing. Catprint’s heavy cotton (118 pound) is the same as Reich Savoy, which is pretty popular for letterpress. I’d just try to make the papers match. They don’t carry Crane Lettra at Catprint, but I prefer the smoothness of the Reich Savoy anyways…
The only difficulty is that the colors will not exactly look the same when printed with letterpress vs. flat. I just opted to print the rsvp’s in a different color, still in our color palette.
