how far in advance of o do you get your LH surge? I just started using OPKs this cycle, and I got (what I think was) a positive OPK three days ago. I took 2 the next day ( FMU and after work), and it was neg (the test line barely showed up on both) so I didn't even bother taking one yesterday. Yesterday and today I have EWCM, and this morning, I got a big temp rise (.1 above CL, but largest rise I've seen this month). I haven't o'd yet, since coming off the pill in Aug, so I'm not convinced I actually o'd, but the signs are sort of lining up.

Just wondering how far in advance an LH surge can be detected and go away before o?

This past weekend I O'd on Saturday. I got a positive OPK on Thursday night and also on Friday afternoon. My temperature spiked on Sunday. I think that your spike looks good but tomorrow's temperature will help to figure it out.

It occurs 12-48 hours before hand. I don't know exactly when it "goes away."  It is definitely possible to get a +OPK and not O.  It means your body tries to, but it doesn't actually happen.  What kind of OPK did you use?

Your temp today is just barely above your coverline and you always need 2 more above it to confirm O.  Hopefully the next 2 will stay high!

Sorry if that just makes you more confused...it's just impossible to know for sure.

Ditto what Mrs. Green Grass said. Crossing my fingers that your temps stay up!

    Thanks ladies.

@MissGreen:  I'm using internet cheapies to POAS. I'm not sure that it was pos on Friday, but looking at the pic, I've decided to say that it was, based on what showed up the next day (I can't upload the pic from my ipad :( ) Your post didn't confuse me at all. I know I'll need the next few temps to stay up, which I doubt will happen, but a girl can hope eh?

@bunny:  as always, thanks for your encouragement. Wouldn't it just be my luck that this is the cycle I went to the doc and asked for a referal (which might be lost in translation somewhere), and it also be the cycle that I o...

    Here's hoping!

I discovered that my LH surge is almost 24-36hrs prior to ovulating.  Since I don't temp, my body sends out other signs.  I automatically get really sore boobs after an egg is released and back pain while the egg is travelling down the tube.

@squeak35:  Thanks. I don't usually get any signs, but I'm also not ovulating, or haven't in the past. I have been having funny goings on around my lady parts today, but I can't tell if it's just gas or something else...

well ladies, after that test that i thought was pos, i got two definate negs (couldn't barely see the line) so I stopped using them to save for next cycle. I had lots of EWCM the last 2 days or so, and having some cramps now, so I POAS and I got a hands down pos OPK today, so it looks like i might be ovulating as we speak! or tomrrow....wish now that I had stuck with the tests for the last couple days!

either way, it was positive today!
