I am 41 years old and I am getting married next summer!
I wanted to share here my family story, because since my engagement I am being very emotional, and I thought it could relieve me to write some words here…
I was raised by my wonderful grandparents because my mother would not take care of me, she decided she was too young (21 years old) to raise a baby, so she went on with her own life. At the age of 10, I unfortunately moved in another country to live with her and the man who gave me his name at my birth because my father was not around any more, I had never met both of them before… They had 2 children, so one half sister and one half brother. After one year living all together she decides to divorce and maried another man. We 3 kids (11, 6 and 2 years old) ended up alone with this dad who definitely did not know how to raise children. There was no intelligent education and the house looked like a war field. Of course this adoptive father had no respect for me, I left this home I was 17 years old. One good thing in all this is that I had a very close relationship with my sister who unfortunately left this world at the age of 20 leaving behind a son who is today my dearest loved nephew, I try to do my best and be around for him when needed… Back to my biological mother, who got married 3 times and has 7 children in total, only one actually lived more than 2 years with her… I will always be grateful to her for lending me her body for 9 months! We sometimes tried to play mother-daughter but it never really worked. We haven’t spoken to each other since 6 years and really, I don’t miss her at all! I am happy with this situation, I don’t even imagine her at my weeding day saying to my fiancé how lucky I am that someone finally proposed me. Nevertheless, today, after these difficult episodes of my life, I managed to graduate 2 years ago from a high business school and I am going to marry the most wonderful man I could find in the universe. On top of that, his wonderful family has just been so welcoming with me since we announced our engagement, it really cheers me up. Thank you for reading me and excuse my English it is not my usual langrage.
