- Wedding: September 2012
I haven’t been around for a while, since I’ve been happily married for 10 months! But now I’m a bridesmaid for my sister-in-law. She lives in TX (I’m in MN) and I am going to host a shower for her in TX because all of her bridal party lives pretty far away from her.
I’m trying to figure out a menu, and it’s a little complicated because I’m traveling from out of town the day prior. The shower will be held at her house, but I won’t have much time to prep/cook anything. I’ve found a bakery/cafe that has reasonable prices, and I was thinking that I would get some “fancier” items from there and supplement with deli items from Costco (re-plated onto nicer trays) to cut costs. I don’t want to have to keep anything hot, and I don’t want to have to do too much food prep because I will also have to set up and decorate (I’ll have some help with this). Will be expecting about 30 guests.
Does this sounds like a complete menu? Too much? Not enough? I’m not including beverages, but that is taken care of.
Variety of mini breakfast sweets (caramel rolls, muffins, scones, etc) – Cafe
Mini quiches – Cafe
Assorted finger sandwiches – Cafe
Mini cupcakes – Cafe
Bagels and cream cheese – Costco
Potato or pasta salad – Costco
Veggie tray – Costco
Fruit tray – Costco
Green salad – Costco
Cheese and crackers – Costco
Does this seem reasonable? Am I missing anything important? Ok variety?
I appreciate any input on this 🙂
