I was very excited to see the post from uncgem about having a gold dress!  Like her and many others I also purchased a light gold dress…..and I love it!

Now I am on to making the decision about what my bridesmaids will wear.

At first having a dress that has a shade of its own left me feeling that I needed to go with a neutral like taupe or mocha.  But I am love with the idea of having lots of color!  Unfortunately most pictures I have come across show the bride in stark white when the maids are sporting a hue...leaving me without a much needed mental image!

So hive what shades will your bridesmaid be wearing alongside your light gold dresses?   Does anyone else feel limited by their light gold dress?  Add your photos if you have them!

    Here's my maggie dress!

Beautiful dress.. My dress has gold flowers all over it and a champagne sash on it and I am going to have my bridesmaid's wear maroon or burgandy.

I'm not sure what time of the year you're getting married, but the gold color I always think of a dusty rose color or a pretty peach. Something antique feeling that will pick up the feel of the dress. Gorgeous dress btw =)

I attended a wedding where the bride wore a gold dress and the bridesmaids wore brown.  It looked really pretty!  A goldy-green would also look nice.

I like all of the colors the other girls suggested - peachy pink would be pretty or a green.  I think you have lots of color possibilities to go along with gold . . . just think of all the colors that fit perfectly with gold!  Right away, I thought of jewel tones, a peacock teal, deep plum, ruby red or burgundy, deep pink.  Just take a look at pictures of indian weddings, which are usually full of gold and red.  They bring in so many colors that are rich and beautiful!

Try that for some ideas, I love the violet and magenta with the gold.

Some colors that pop to mine, are a whiskey brown

    copper

    bronze

    burnt orange

    Silver (contrast)

    black

    aqua

    hunter green

Beautiful dress! When i think of gold i always think of light pink..it looks so romantic! but gold can also go with so many other colors. you can definitely pair it with a jeweltone color like royal blue or emerald so they pop. Im sure there are so many conbinations you can go with. Your dress is beautiful..i think you will look amazing!

I have a light gold maggie and my bridesmaids are wearing burgundy. I'm even wearing burgundy shoes.

We also considered slate blue, but thought that the darker color (burgundy) was a better contrast. Navy would probably look nice too.

well, even tho your dress isn't white it's still a pale color and a relatively neutral one, so honestly ANY color will go with it.  don't feel like you are limited, think outside the box :)  i love pairing a cool color with gold, it has a great and very elegant contrast.  like any shade of blue would look great!  that could be your palette!  all shades of blue and gold.  very concise but still fun and colorful with the different shades.

Im wearing the Milana as well! Only in diamond white and pewter. I agree with the other girls that a pink would look fabulous and romantic!

I am a huge fan of the color of my bm dresses by J crew.  The satin chiffon in deep rose.  It's almost a deep coral pink and would look amazing with a gold color.  Those are amazing together imho.

Btw, one of the dresses I have in mind is actually a very light gold.  If I go w/it, I'm bringing in a bit of the gold color with a brooch and some goldish into the bouquet.  You can also do it w/the bm bouquets too to tie it all in together color-wise!

My friend who wore a light gold had her BMs wear a antique brown which almost had a little gold shimmer on them. It looked gorgeous together.

I'm with Kemi - I think almost anything will work: brown, green, navy, teal, purple, burgundy, red, grey, pink. Avoid yellow for sure.

Last year I was in a wedding and we wore emeralnd green dresses with soft gold accents (shoes and jewelry). At first I wasn't into it at all because I'm not much of a gold person. I just wanted to wear black shoes, but the gold was really pretty and definitely matched. I agree with @spaganya though. The green may be too strong of a color with your beautiful dress. Good Luck!

Gold is such a beautiful color, my dress is ivory/golden as well. What's great about it, is that it's kind of a neutral so anything in the warm color family should work. Our bridesmaids are wearing really hot red dresses, they love them and we can't wait to see our whole gorgeous bridal party together! :)

Gold and Pink are always a classy combo.. and there is soooo much cute vintage enamel jewelry to match.

I agree- I think a dusty rose/light pink would look lovely!  Do you have a favorite color or another color(s) you are considerin incorporating into your decor?

I had a Maggie light gold and my girls were in an olive-y green taffeta.  I think it looked great but I am still waiting on the pro pics.

I tried on this dress yesterday and fell in love. It's light gold with off-white lace over it:

Would black be OK for Bridesmaids dresses ? I always loved the idea of black and white, but now I want to incorporate gold.. help!!!!!!

    thanks.
