    Hello Chicago Bee's!

Did any of you use special lighting for your reception?  If so, who did you use?  I'm debating about this and would like your opinion.  My reception will be in an atrium that is all white.  My FI and I are discussing either using linens or lighting to bring in and incorporte our color....can't do both as it will be costly.  Also, if have used lighting..would you mind providing a picture?

    Thanks!

    Ms. Tea

I don't have a pic, but my friend had brown/ivory as her color, brown linens and then used hot pink and orange uplighting.  Beautiful!  Changed the entire venue!

We are using Katie Trotter from Allure Designs. She is AMAZING and her prices are really competitive.  She is such a sweetheart and has great experience! Here's her Web site:

We did uplighting and some pipe and drape on the walls.  I was unsure about both, but the uplighting was fantastic.  They had suggested purples, but I changed it to ambers.  It really set the mood.  I remain unsure about the pipe and drape.  The florist talked me into it (instead of doing a few more tall centerpieces with the extra money).  I'm still not convinced, though many of the guests definitely did notice it. We did white-ish drape with some greens and had lighting below to give them an amber hue.

BTW, not sure what your budget is but we used Emerald City Designs in the Detroit area (head florist is David McKnight). I know he does travel and I'm pretty sure Chicago would be in his radius (don't know what he'd charge for the distance, though). I do highly recommend them...they did a beautiful job.
