Would it be possible to “practice” trying out the different lighting at the venue before the big day? I know lighting can be a huge part of how photos turn out and there’s a fine line  between “romantic” and “I can’t see my food.” Is there any way to hang some of the lighting along the ceiling? It might add some dimentionsional contrast and more indirect lighting like below

runsyellowlites:  Gotcha, didn’t notice that in the picture. I really like how the fabric adds a softness to the lighting – might also help with that “too much going on” feeling.

runsyellowlites:  Before I got to PP’s suggestion I was going to say the same thing about draping the lights across the ceiling, it has a beautiful effect! (My mums an interior designer and does a lot of events and i’ve seen her do this a bunch of times – including at my 18th – and it looks fab!)

The lighting behind the fabric gives it a really soft romantic feel, I think your mum would love it!

PS I love that you’re helping your mum plan her wedding that’s so sweet and makes me a little nostalgic.. I helped my mum and step-dad plan their wedding and it was so lovely!

Good luck with it all i’m sure it will look amazing!
