Only because we live together and if the lights were on and our son ever was to walk in we would be in trouble!! ha ha. so the lights off!!
i like it better with the lights off, because personally (i know you guys may all think i am weird) i think it's gross that i can see my fat when the lights are on. but, we usually end up doing it in the middle of the day when it's bright out, or he turns the lights on. he's a big fan of the lights on.
@heatherrobyn: This is the same reason I like them off also. When I see myself in light, I think my fat looks ugly/gross and can't understand why he would want to be intimate with me. Granted that's my own insecurity but the lights off do help!
I have a theory about this.
I think when we're naked, all we think about is our flab & cellulite, real or imagined.
I think when men are having sex with us, or about to, all they think about is:
I'M HAVING SEX!!! YAY ME!

I think it's mostly on. Just depends. It's not so much that I'm all that comfortable in my own skin, but sex is just a pretty good distraction. When we aren't having sex I usually cover myself up.
He knows what I look like! No need to turn the lights off :)
On. soft lights though!
Those who prefer darkness, what do you do during the daytime if you're having sex?
I prefer the lights off, not because of my thoughts on my body, but I just find it more romantic or sexier in the dark. It's not pitch-dark, so we can still see each other's face/body up close.
@Beccka: Most of the time it's at night for us, but when it is during the day, I think he is happier, since he likes it better with the lights on. lol
@Beccka: I think it was to difficult to vote because it was so cut & dry. Soft lights, candles are perfect.
We don't really prefer on or off. We just go at it whether or not they're on or off.
I don't have a preference really, but I voted on because we mostly do it in the middle of the day when its bright

lights on or off i dont care - and as we usually have sex most mornings its daylight anyway so there is no choice really
If they are on when we get all mushy .. they stay on .. if they are off .. they stay off!
Usually on. I would prefer off but FI likes it with the lights on. So we usually light a candle or have the bedside lamp on.
@HisIrishPrincess: This exactly! And because of this, we usually end up with the lights on. Like alishadhs4, I like to be able to see all of my man. I'm actually kind of surprised that off is beating out on by such a large margin!
I prefer the lights off I just like the dark. That being said we have done it in daylight and I haven't had a problem with it. I guess it all depends on when were in the mood.

I'd say generally the lights are off, but there is also usually some light coming through the windows so we can see each other. I love being able to see his face during, and I know he likes seeing mine.
We do have lights on a decent amount though. Sometimes it's the full room light, other times a small lamp or candle. I like this a lot as well...very sexy!
We have sex during the day as well - full light! Morning sex can be so nice with the pretty morning light streaming through the windows.
Looking at the percentage of the poll, it looks almost even. Personally, it's lights on.
I voted for "lights off" because the poll said the majority of the time but honestly its probably 60% off, 40% on - we enjoy it both ways!
The lights are always on. I think we've only done it once or twice in the dark. We're more turned on by each others bodies, so it would kill the mood if we couldn't see each other.
