Limited space...rectangle or circle tables?

posted 3 months ago in Beehive

I have fallen in LOVE with a venue.  However, the space is small and I need to use my savvy to really fit everyone in comfortably.  My brother is a math wiz and is going to play with table sizes and the room dimensions to see if we can fit.  I am curious if anyone else had this problem and if they can help me determine if I should use square or circle tables!

 Thanks!

It depends on how your room is layed out, but generally speaking I think circular tables are always more condusive to conversation as well as seating area...corners are not too flexible as far as seating capacity...IMO

I know that rectangular tables can fit more people...

The rectangular tables at my venue fit 12 people.  My venue also has oval tables which can fit a max of 10 people.  So per table the rectagular can fit more people.

I also inquired about round tables at my venue... (they don't have them but can bring them in for us) the round tables can fit 10 people... BUT the tables themselves take up more space than the oval and rectangular tables... which means fewer number of tables in the entire room!

I would ask the vendor... (I met up with the event coordinator at my venue over the weekend and she had three different floor plans to show me with different max capacities!)

good luck !

I think a mixture of both is really dynamic and space efficient, so you can use spaces in between better.  Or you can do mostly rectangular if they fit more, with some round thrown in for variety!

Thanks ladies!  That helps...I think I am going to use rectangle because I can really fit more people in per square feet but there are some small side rooms and inlets that open to the ballroom, I will use rounds in these rooms.  Thanks!
