OK. So, I'm planning Miss PumpkinPenguin's bachelorette. We were hoping to have all the girls meet at my house beforehand for a pre=party, then head out to the bars in a nearby town (Raleigh, NC, it's comparable to NYC, really, haha).

The questions is re the limo. The other MOH is pricing it, but she's worried that if 25 people come to the bachelorette party, they won't all fit in the limo...so she thinks we should all meet at the bar.  But I think meeting at the bar gives it more of a regular girls night out feel, and doesnt make it as special as a real party with decorations before hand.

    The questions are:

    1. If we all meet at my house, but only 10 ride in the limo and the rest have to drive themselves to the bar, is that tacky or offensive?

    2. If we meet at the bar, but ten of us roll up in a limo, is that tacky?

    3. Should I just ask the bride what she prefers?

Also, I really want to get the invities out SOON because the shower is at the end of June (ooh, a rhyme). Basically, waiting to hear what the rates on our limos, which I might just end up pricing myself...that's a whole nother story.

Have you looked into the big party buses?  They have some here in Houston that are the size of a bus a rock star/movie star would have.  They are really nice with leather couch, flat screen tvs etc.  We rented one for my SIL and got about 15 girls in with plenty of room for more to ride.  It also had a bathroom on board and wet bar/fridge which was very nice!

Our's ran 1,000 and we tipped him 200.  Which if you divide that by 25 girls that's 48 bucks.  We honestly had more fun riding around and dancing to Girls Just Wanna Have fun then we did at the bars! LOL

I would definitely say you shouldn't have some girls in the limo and some not.  Either get a bigger limo (bus) that can fit everyone.. or just skip it.

If it were my bachelorette I'd want to be consulted on it and i'd probably suggest a big party bus or give you a list of who should be in the limo and maybe suggest the others can go in on their own limo. Or at least give them the option to so there's no hurt feelings.

Thanks everyone! I called and got some quotes for like a 25 person bus and it looks do-able, so I think it will all work out!

Is there a polite way to ask guests to contribute to the cost of the limo?

I say party bus as well, thats the route we're taking...

Just tell people that you're asking such and such dollar amount to cover the cost of the limo/bus
