Every hotel we have looked into getting a block of rooms from has offered a complimentary shuttle service. Most require a minimum number of rooms be booked--usually about 10. This should be sufficient transportation.
I'm renting a shuttle for my guests from the hotel to the wedding and back. I went with a local company that only charges $50 an hour for a bus that seats 25. I know that all of OOT guests will be using it.
Thanks to both of you for your replies. I will ask the hotel right away and if not, look into finding a local option for a bus of some sort. That hourly option would be ideal, as I saw a trolley company that offered something similar but it was looking to be quite expensive...like more in the $1000 range.
The distance being traveled is only 4 miles so it wouldn't take long to transport everyone back and forth and I would hate to have to pay for the vehicle to sit there idle for the whole time....6 hours from ceremony start to end of reception...
I wonder if I look towards more of a bus/charter company rather than a limo company that would be cheaper? I just would love for everyone to be able to let loose a little and not have to worry about drinking and driving...
The specific hotels that are offering free hotel shuttle service are The Radisson, The Hilton Garden Inn, La Quinta, and The Marriott. The Marriott requires that 20 rooms be booked, the rest all require 10 :)
Interesting since we also are also going with a Marriott and a Hlton Garden, both of which told me they don't offer any type of shuttle service.
I looked into a trolley service and a large coach bus and was quoted over $1,000 for one and just under for the other. This is a 4 mile...transport...that's just not working for me.
The hotels we are booking are all airport hotels, so I know that is why they own shuttle vans (they offer complimentary shuttle service to and from the airport). So, if you're near a major airport, check out those hotels, they are probably more likely to offer you a shuttle!
Thanks for the suggestion, there nearest airport is 45 minutes away. So I'm probably not going to find anything like that. :(

Sorry, there are no users yet.
I'm tossing around the idea of providing some sort of shuttle service for our guests from the hotel to the venue and from the venue to the hotels about 4 miles away.
Have any of you looked into this, or any newly married recently done this?
Just wondering a few things:
1. Did all the guests actually use the service, or did a good amount of them drive themselves? I don't want to spend the $ and have most of our guests not even use it.
2. Did it cost a bundle?
3. Any issues encountered? Where they timely, etc.?
Thanks for any insight you can give!
