For our wedding at the end of this month we are going to give out small bottles of limoncello as our favors. I have googled this extensively but have not been able to find an answer… Once we open the store bought bottles of limoncello and have transferred it to the smaller bottles, do we need to refrigerate them? We’re preparing about 100 bottles and probably won’t have enough room in our fridge for all of them. I’d really prefer NOT to refrigerate them if possible because of the condensation possibly ruining the tags and stickers that will need to be attached…

@Johanna510: I doubt you have to. In a Julia Child recipe for making cherry liqueur, you open the clear spirits, add cherries and sugar, then keep in a jar with a lid in a cabinet for a few months. Even if you’re adding a piece of lemon rind or something decorative, it should be fine because it’s alcohol.

I worked at a restaurant with a bar and we kept our Limoncello out on the bar shelf.

Yes it can be left out. If you have leftovers send some over my way I love limoncello 😀

Leave it out. I LOVE this idea. We were considering doing Limoncello for our favors too!

That is a fantastic idea, I LOVE lemoncello. I think it can just be left on the shelf.

@Johanna510: Definitely out, my dad makes it sometimes (so good) and like a PP mentioned it just sits in a cupboard doing its thing for a long time. It’s insanely easy to make also if you haven’t looked into that, but if the date on your profile is right you wouldn’t have enough time before your wedding.
