I'm getting married in September, which helpde shaped my colors. I loooooove eggplant so that was definitely one. I played with paint chips until I selected light gold to go with it. I was going to leave it at that until somebody pointed out that with the green from my stems, it would look like Mardi Gras so then I added burnt orange as well.
If you're looking for inspiration, The Knot's Ultimate Wedding Lookbook is AWESOME. I wish I had that when I was first starting out because it's FULL of different color combinations and then pics to go along with it!
Good luck! :)
Thanks MissMellow! I will definitely take a look at it! I just love the way all the brides are choosing colors and patterns that are absolutely gorgeous together! Happy Planning!!!!
Our colors are black and white with accents of turquious!! We are having a november wedding.
Our colors are teal, purple, and black. With the purple being an accent color and teal and black being our main colors.
We chose black because it was a simple, classy color that the girls could easily wear again. Teal was because... well... we just liked the color. That's it! lol. And we added purple because we needed a color that would naturally occure in flowers and I think it just adds a richness to it. Also, our main floers, blue orchids, are pruple and tealish

We are doing grass green, orange, a touch of ivory.
My colors are Olive Green, Gold, and Ivory. My inspiration was the Brooklyn Bridge during Spring time.

Our colors are Silver/Gray (depending on the item) and Purple/Aubergine.
This is our inspiration board, but my flowers came out very different due to what was available.

My colors are navy blue, orange/yellow with green thrown in. This is my board from The Knot:

Teal and Light Coral with white and black accents... Something along these lines....

@Ms Hedgehog: We have the same colors! Except we're not using black. We are using the blue dendrobium orchids also, though!!! :o)
We chose those colors for the DW ceremony & reception because purple is my favorite color & teal/turquoise are his favorites. So.. it was easy, LoL.
We're using black and white for our at home reception though.
As a huge fan of Lilly Pulitzer and all things preppy, our 2010 late summer wedding was hot pink and key lime green! And a touch of navy.
Perfect for summery evenings!
I decided to not focus on a specific color pallet and go with a general fall color theme so we can use all different shades of red, yellow, gold, green, etc. I call it "earthy."
I'm using lots of moss in the centerpieces and plenty of candlelight to bring in the golden colors. We'll have mahogany chiavaris and chargers with matching swags to accent the tent ceiling. My fiance is also building some custom chandeliers to give the whole tent an amber hue!
We're shooting for a late February or early March wedding. I didn't want to do red and end up looking like Valentine's Day so I think we've decided to go with purples, black, grey/silver.
Ideally, I would like white with black overlays with silver on tables. Tuxes to be black with grey/silver. Bridesmaids in black. All flowers in different shades of purple. And if I get my way with the reception, will have purple lighting.
