So I thought I knew what I wanted. I thought I wanted White table cloths, purple napkins, white hydrangea centrepieces and purple uplighting.
After meeting with my caterer/DOC on the weekend I’m now not sure anymore…
He and FH (and the venue DOC) kind of ganged up on me and told me I needed more colour and shouldn’t have purple uplighting.
They think we should do purple (aubergine) tablecloths with champagne or amber uplighting…
I’m afraid that 10 – 60″ round tables with purple linens is going to be too much?
What do you think bees?

Ok maybe this will somewhat help you envision it
White linens with purple uplighting. The white and purple gives more of a cool tone and the champagne gives more of a warm tone…..so it just depends on the vibe you are going for.
Here is purple tablecloths with soft uplighting of what also appears to be purple
Champagne uplighting is going to have more of a warm glow like this
Both are pretty just depends in the vibe you are going for

What about the light colored tablecloths with a colored overlay or runner? I agree, I’m not a fan of full-on color tablecloths at every table.

I think a white and purple color scheme is totally different from a purple and gold color scheme!
Personally, I like the white/purple one better. Especially for a spring wedding!

I say stick to your vision. It will be lovely.

I like their ideas. You don’t want it too purple with the up lighting!and the champagne will give it a warmer and more upscale vibe. I like dark tablecloths, especially for evening weddings! Can you go to the linen rental store and look at a table with white and eggplant tablecloths and the purple and champagne napkins? Sometimes seeing it visually helps.

I’m actually gonna go with the pros on this. I think purple and white might look too Eastery.

I am a little partial to the purple linens and amber uplighting, as that’s what I’m doing. But you really hsould stick to your vision if that’s what you really want. You’re the one that needs to be happy, not the planner

@BearyLovely: it’s a royal purple as opposed to lilac
@KMoon5314: I’m trying to keep costs down and don’t want to get into overlays and runners if i can avoid it
I should have posted this picture at the beginning. This is my venue. I’m getting those chairs, but with white cusions. I was going to have the white cloths with purple napkins.

Just found this…maybe I’m okay with purple table cloths after all….

@MsGinkgo: Seeing your venue really either will be just fine! Will they let you set up a mock table of each? Do they have the linens there you are renting or do you need to buy them? Just a thought….get a table cloth of each and set up a table and then go from there.

I think your vision sounds beautiful.

I personally think food looks so much better on white than colors. I’d stick with your original plan.

I am a less is more kind of girl, so I think your first vision sounds perfectly beautiful! Too many colors looks like a night club or a birthday party. Go with your gut on this! 🙂

I am struggling with the same thing. White or royal blue tablecloths. with LED lighted centerpieces. I have been looking online to try to get an idea of what will look better. I am trying to go with a cocktail theme so I’m torn. I think your original idea sounds beautiful, but I do like the picture of the dark tablecloths too. I think it really just depends on what type of feel and vibe you want at your reception.
