A friend of my moms has asked to throw me a shower. She suggested maybe doing a linen theme (primarily for the gifts I guess). What would a shower like this entail? I am not sure if we have enough “linens” on our registry for this type of shower (it would probably be about 20 guests). I guess maybe between 4-6 sets of towels, 3 sets of sheets, and 2-3 comforter sets that would be enough?
We just bought a house but have not decorated so I am very hesitant to pick out bathroom accessories or specific colors for towels and/or sheets.
Is this a good idea, or should we do a differen theme? Maybe “Around the Clock” or “Bear-Necessities”?

You’re shower doesn’t have to have a theme. We started out planning a linen shower, but I was in the sort of the same boat, not needing enough linens. So my cousin changed the invitation to just say Wedding Shower. That way I can register for all sorts of household goods. Now I’m only having the one shower, but if you are having more than one, you might want to have different themes for them. People are doing all sorts of themes these days. I think “Around the Clock” would probably be fun!

Depending on what ends up on your registry, I think that entertaining showers can be really fun too. It’s perfect if you have a lot of the basics but want serving dishes, wine glasses, a cake stand, etc.

Have you asked her why she is interested in doing a linen theme? I’ve never heard of that theme before.
I would suppose you could add tablecloths, cloth napkins, kitchen towels, guest room bedding/bath stuff too. How many rooms/baths does your house have? You could register for a color scheme for each room and then when you get the gifts, then you can decide which you want for your room or a guest room.

I talked to one of the other hosts of the shower and she kinda agreed that it would be a hard “theme” for the shower. She said she would talk to the host about either not having a theme unless I had some stuff I really needed (Ugh, hello, thats all of it!)

My girls are having a tea party for me. I’ve always wanted a formal tea party… in pre-school, I invited my whole class to my tea party birthday, it wasn’t my birthday and my mom had no idea. So it’s a theme but doesn’t limit to one type of gift.
