I went thru this also.  I ended up using black satin tablecloths and using red on some tables with overlays.  Maybe if you tell us the color you are thinking of it will help

@DCSquared: I’m purchasing my linens from cvlinens.com as well.  I need 132″ round, and I want satin, so it’s hard to find them elsewhere.  I’d suggest ordering one as a sample before you place the entire order so you can see and feel it in person.  I ordered a silver satin tablecloth and it is really nice.  It’s a little thinner than I expected, but it does the job.  Now I’m just deciding between going with the 132″ round so I can have floor length, or using the ivory tablecloths the venue provides and using silver satin overlays to save money.  Decisions, decisions!

15happyyears is right, if you tell us your colors we might be able to give you opinions!

@DCSquared: No, I haven’t purchased them yet as I have a lot of time until my wedding.  I’m wishing, waiting, and hoping I’ll find a coupon code one of these days!

The one thing I did come across which I touched on in my post above is that the floor length linens I want are $16.99 each.  If I purchase an overlay instead and use the ivory tablecloths the venue supplies me with underneath, I can pay $6.99 each.  That would save me $10 a piece!  I just have to make the decision.

@mikaylav3: we are planning to do something similar to this, so you would not be alone! I think it is nice to give people more than one color to look at…just my two cents

@DCSquared: What size are the tables and what size linens are you looking for?

Depending on how many tables you need to cover, it seems like CVLinens has the best prices.  I’m sure you’ve already looked but they have 120″ champagne satin tablecloths (currently sold out, but they usually restock pretty quickly).  Unfortunately it doesn’t seem like they have 108″ champagne satin tablecloths.

Or, if you want to act fast and are willing to do sage tablecloths with champagne runners, they have 108″ sage satin tablecloths on clearance.  The only problem is they’re not returnable if you don’t like the color.

Then you could use champagne pintuck runners or champagne satin runners on top of those.
