My sister is planning my bachelorette party. We are calling it a Girls Weekend because I don’t particularly like bachelorette parties with penis paraphenilia, crude games like suck for a buck etc. I’m going to be 30 soon and I’ve been to a thousand of those bachelorette parties and am OVER THEM. I asked for a chill weekend at a cabin and they delivered. They found a friend’s cabin to host the Girls Weekend and I’m thrilled. Bonfires, BBQ, Games – ie. LAID BACK!
Now, onto the real reason I’m writing a post….bachelorette party gifts. Since I don’t want a girls weekend with nastiness, I also don’t want a ton of super sexy lingerie for two reasons. Reason One – I’m okay wearing a few sexy things, but I don’t need 20 sexy bra and panty sets – I just won’t wear them. My fiance would, of course, like these sexy little outfits (what guy wouldn’t) but he knows me as the girl who wears a super soft t-shirt of his and pajama pants or shorts to bed. Reason Two: I am a size 36DD and wear Large panties. Oftentimes, when I receive bachelorette party invites, the sizes are listed. Because I’m a big bust girl, it’s harder to find bras that actually fit right. Most of the time, I wear bras that are NOT cute, but do what I want them to do – SUPPORT MY BREASTS. So, with those two reasons in mind, I’m not super excited about printing my sizes on the invite for my girlfriends to buy me sexy outfits or bra/panty sets that I won’t wear. I don’t want them to waist their gift money on something that I will put in a drawer and never wear again. (I’ve heard this plenty from my girlfriends.)
So….do I reluctantly give my bra and panty size to the guests or do I tell them I would prefer items from my registry or non-lingerie items?
My sister is getting ready to send the invites out next week and I need to respond to her. She asked me to think about what I want to do and my first thought was to come to the Wedding Bee because everyone is so helpful!
