I’ve trawled past boards (and Pinterest!) and haven’t found any discussion on this front. My Fiance and I are big music people and are going to DIY the music for our reception. We’d love to share the playlist with our guests, but burning and quality-checking 90-100 CDs sounds too time-consuming to me. Here’s what I picture–a small favor, like a seed packet or a sweet edible, with a tag attached that has a weblink to the playlist. Our guests are very tech-savvy, and those who aren’t could enjoy the non-link favor… What do you guys think?

I would skip the link. I (and my husband) am pretty tech-savvy but I would never access your playlist.

@kmdt2be: I’m a big music person… but I never listen to wedding CDs and would probably not go and check out the linked playlist either…. Your playlist has a whole depth of meeting to you but not to majority of guests…

@kmdt2be: Thirding the “your playlist is not of much interest after the wedding” sentiment. Your guests will enjoy it while it’s playing, and the right playlist is worth an investment of time for the meaning it will have for you and the way it affects the vibe/flow of the event, but unless you’re all amazing musicians composing new music for this, nobody else will care about the order and choice of songs you made after they leave.

Whomp whomp. Thanks for the feedback guys! I may still put a QR code link on the favor table, since it’s something I’ve wished for at a few friends’ celebrations, but I’ll ease up on the “Everyone will love this!” enthusiasm. 🙂
