@newcitylights:  Try a lip stain. They usually dry and don’t leave a glossy feeling on your lips.

Or, you can make it something funny and when they say you may now kiss your bride. Stop him as he leans in and wipe the lipstick off with a kleenex. Probably get a laugh or two.

@newcitylights:  Ha, my husband hates chapstick.  I wore some sort of lip balm on our wedding day and he kissed me anyway, and it wasn’t a problem.  On normal days, there is literally NOTHING I could put on my lips that he wouldn’t have a problem with.  He hates all chapsticks/balms/etc.  But on our wedding day, I didn’t hear a thing about it (I usually do).  I wouldn’t worry too much.

@MrsUPS:  Lol, the Kleenex idea is cute 🙂

I don’t have much advice for you, just writing to say I feel you. FH loves the look of lipstick on me, but doesn’t like kissing me too much while I’m wearing it; he’s paranoid it’ll get on HIS lips/face.

@newcitylights:  two things to reccomend. Yu-be cream. Japanese all purpose salve. Once you rub it into your lips I swear it is undectable but still makes them smooth and soft. For color I reccomend Laura Mercier lip stain. Not truly a stain but when patted on with a finger provides good color without any texture AND aren’t as drying as a traditional lip stains.

@newcitylights:  The company Fresh makes some lip balms called Sugar that are ultra-moisturizing and long-lasting, and yet have a very soft feel and subtle color. They’re the only balms I’ve found that don’t make me feel like I need to reapply them constantly, they actually moisurize the lips for a long time after application, without being at all waxy or heavy. I probably never would have tried them if I hadn’t gotten a free sample from Sephora for a birthday gift a few years ago, because they are spendy, but I am never without them now.

You might still not be able to use them during the kiss, but I would strongly recommend them, and the lip scrub they make, in the days leading up to the wedding to make sure your lips are soft and smooth for a lip stain. Nothing is quite is icky as lip stain on dry lips.

@newcitylights:  I’ve discovered that Revlon Colorstay Ultimate Suede lipstick stays on very well (many hours; in fact when I wear the red kind, my lips will still be stained a little red the next morning), and dries on your lips to a sort of dry, powdery/silky feel. It’s not gooey or greasy, like many lip products. My FI also hates greasy lips and complains most of the time if I kiss him and I’m wearing lip balm, and he hasn’t said anything about that kind of lipstick.

Also, lip stains, as people have previously suggested, wouldn’t change the texture of your lips at all, but I find the drugstore ones I have drying and it sounds like that would really suck for you since you’re on Accutane. I have extensively looked into natural lip stains that are long-lasting, and the most interesting, and safe product I came upon was Mehru lip dye. At least some of the colors are made with henna coloring, and it comes in lots and lots of colors. I will probably get some for my wedding makeup because I don’t want to reapply lip stuff all day!

@newcitylights:

this is my favorite natural/nude lip color ever, it is what I am most likely wearing on my wedding day…. YSL rouge volupte nude beige ( #1)

It is a very moisturizing formula, but when it comes down to it what really is going to make ANY lip stick last is a good lip liner, without a liner this lipstick may last 30 minutes to 1 hour, with a lipliner it lasts hours

Revlon Colorstay is freaking amazing…what I wear on a daily basis. Won’t budge until you take it off. Cover Girl Outlast is also really great.
