I’m not sure this is going to be a very helpful post, but I stopped wearing lipstick because I don’t see the point of wearing it if it’s just going to rub off. All semi-permanent lipsticks I’ve tried have been really drying so they look awful after a few hours. The only thing I use is lip powder. I can’t recommend a brand because the one I use I bought at a marketplace in Morocco, but I’ve heard that some normal brands offer it.

It’s GREAT. It stays on for hours, and even after I remove it my lips still retain some smooth colour. Best of all, it doesn’t flake or rub off on anything. The only issue is that it can be slightly drying so I need to keep my lips moisturised for an hour or so before applying it. But I think brand-name versions have solved that problem since they have some quality ingredients that mine doesn’t.

Good luck on your quest 🙂

Commenting to follow.

I have this problem too. I tried one that stayed fairly well, but it makes my lips so greasey.

I use Mark Gloss Gorgeous Lip Stain in the colour Bella. It’s such a soft neutral pink. It doesn’t last all day, you will have to reapply a few times but its the longest lasting I’ve used and doesn’t leave stains behind on drinking glasses or Fi. It’s around $12 and the colours are really pretty. I use it when I’m going out with my friends, I reapply once and this is after eating and lots of drinks.

I splurged on some higher end prouduct..I ended up getting a lanacolm lipstick and liner and that stuff does not budge! Head to a local department store and ask for there long lasting formula, you can try it for free and see how long it lasts! This picture is from my makeup trail that I had in the early morning, I had to scrub the stuff off in the evening…for me it was worth the splurge!

I absolutely love Loreals Infallible, have them in several colors and last all day. Make sure lips are clean no primer or makeup on them so lipstick will stick and last all day. Comes with moisturizer balm side, check out youtube review  http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=XQS6uSlQkl0

@Jlee28: What color is that? It’s beautiful and exactly what I’m looking for.

Korres Liquid Lipstick! It’s basically very high pigmented gloss and really stays put and almost stains your lips. And I like Clinique Chubby Sticks as well!

I completely recommend Revlon Kissable Balm stains. I’ve become a bit obsessed with them ever since I bought them for my wedding (I was also looking for something that would stay put throughout the day) and I adore them. They are big chunky “pencils”, really easy to apply and they stay put for hours- through dinner and two cups of tea etc. my lips tend to be a bit dry and these dont make them drier, and go on very evenly. The colours look a bit crazy but actually on the lips are very wearable and you can really build the colour or just go for a slight tint. The other good thing is they aren’t too pricey- on a 3 for 2 offer in Boots at the moment which means they cost about £5.50 each.
