I have Laura Mercier lipstain called Mulberry. I haven't worn it a whole lot yet though.
@Sassygrn: Has it worked well the times that you did use it? How long did it last?
Sorry, I've had similar disappointing results with lip stains. i don't notice that they last any longer than lipstick. Definitely not the 12 hours they claim!
One of my bridesmaids is a makeup artist, she loves lipstain, swears by it. I'll ask her what her favorites are - please hold...
Per my bridesmaid: "The best one is DuWop, but I think there is only a bright red and a pink. Tarte Natural Lip Stain is pretty awesome too. I’m trying out Covergirl lip stain right now which seems to be OK but is not super long lasting. The best tip is to make sure to exfoliate your lips prior to using a stain. I just brush my lips when I brush my teeth in the morning."
Chanel has some that's really good. I plan on buying a color for my wedding.
Not a stain, but I use CoverGirl Outlast lip colour and it's never failed me yet. It has two parts, the actual lip colour, and a clear gloss to put on top. The clear gloss will kiss off (but hey, doesn't your guy deserve nice moisturized lips too?), but the colour does not go anywhere. I swear, I can wear the brightest berry red they have and kiss DH to death, and the colour does not move. Which I'm sure he appreciates :)
I tend to reapply the gloss every few hours so that my lips don't dry out, but other than that it's super low maintenance and very long-wearing.
I love the covergirl lipstain---pretty basic but it seems to work! :)
Yay, thank you ladies! I am excited to try some of these out. :)
I used one 2 part long lasting lip color/stain from loreal and maybelline. And that color lasts 4ver! I seriously couldnt get it off!
I have also had pretty good luck with the Cover Girl lipstain. I use that and then regular chapstick over the top and it looks great and holds up fairly well. The only problem is that, because it is like of like a large marker, it dries up after a while.

I've tried a couple of brands of lip stain but they didn't stain very well and the color was gone within a few hours. I don't really like lip stick/ gloss because then I can't kiss FH, so I'm turning to the hive.
Does anyone use lip stain opposed to lip stick or lip gloss (at their wedding or for everyday wear)? What brand do you like?
Or if you use lip stick/gloss that doesn't transfer/smear, what brand?
Also, what color do you use and why?
