Just bumping to see if anyone around for the post-a-thon knows Lippincott - I sure hope so!
My best friend was married there in 2007. We also had senior prom there in 2000 when it was a lot crappier. The wedding was fun and decently nice. It really is not a lot of frills and I wish they would have done more modern updates. I can make much better food (but then again, I am a good cook). Bottom line is, it is cheap. If saving money but still having a pleasant experience is important to you, this is a good contender.
@sarahbabs: let me know if you end up seeing the place--I'm having trouble telling from the pictures whether the fake green turf will be too obvious during a wedding (I personally don't like it)...
I was scared after seeing your responses, but we ended up loving it in person. The photography on their site is not my style at all, so it was hard to envision it from the pictures, but the tent is spacious and will be a lovely blank canvas for the reception. The grounds have a lovely view of the mountains and the White Cliffs in the distance, and a river in the other direction. The food we tasted was absolutely delicious (the homemade meatballs were literally the best I've ever tasted), and it was from the least expensive package! Most importantly, the people are awesome. We were looking at a few other places, but Tricia and Marty won us over with their warmth and friendliness, and the fact that we could tell they genuinely care about what they do. The prices are reasonable, and the various options available for each package will let us stay within our budget no matter how many people RSVP. When we walked away from meeting with them, we both had the feeling that we had found *our* place, and as soon as we worked out the logistics for transportation and lodging, we booked it :)
Congrats!! We are still in the process of looking :( and have actually moved our search to LI due to cost and our (probably too high) expectations! :( My fiance should know that I'm thorough in my research and to just trust me when I say something works hehe :)
@DocT: No problem! Let me know what you end up with. Venue hunting can be rough!
I am glad it worked out for you. You are right, it can be a blank and beautiful canvas. I do wish they would perk it up a bit more but I guess that is what keeps prices low.
@mannarose630: Me too!!! Thanks for your help - I don't know if I would have found it without you :)
You would have! If you're anything like me you would have stumbled upon it in frustration - there are only so many great places in the hudson valley!! :)
@mannarose630: LOL, but I might not have been able to see past their website without your advice, so thank you!
@sarahbabs: You're very welcome :) Just be sure to post a recap!!

Hey all you lovely bees!
My fiance and I are looking at Lippincott Manor as a possible venue, and there aren't any reviews around here, so I just wanted to see if anyone has had any experience with them?
Thanks in advance!
